Perfect location as slap bang in the middle of the main street and has everything available around it to you, close to bus stops,shops,restaurants and trails.
A self service hostal so can't comment on service as you serve yourself.
Kitchen available but can be cramps due to other people in the hostel using it and limited cooking room if someone else is using it.
Would use again

One star feels polite. The location of this hostel is great but the hostel itself is gross. - Fruit flies and insects all over the small kitchen surfaces and items - Weird smell in the overall hostel, I know the building is old but… - Not convinced the bed linen was washed before we arrived - Crumbs and dirt everywhere encouraging pests - Other guests mostly seemed nice but just a weird atmosphere, feels like some dodgy uncles apartment - The overall vibe is kinda spooky, like something out of a Stephen King novel. I would highly recommend you pay the extra couple bucks and check into another hostel in town, because this place really put a damper on our time in Canmore.

There was a lot of dust under the bed. I did a breakfast in the kitchen and there was dust everywhere. Fridges full. No soap to do the dishes. I understand it is a hostel for young but there is some washing that could be done. Otherwaise it's easy to go to, there's sometime free parking and the instructions for our bedroom door were clear. Don't be surprise if you find someone sleeping in the lobby each morning.

10/10 recommend visiting Canmore. 10/10 do not recommend staying at this hostel. The towel I was provided with had a stain on it and I had no pillow on my bed, not that I could tell anyone this because there’s no staff around. Woke up this morning to 4 toilets with not one single bit of toilet paper. Luggage storage is advertised but it says on the email to text a number if you need it, which is fine but not when no one replies to the text or answers the phone when you call. I am now stuck with all my things for 5 hours. Not impressed! I refused to shower because they looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for a few days, which is disgusting considering how many people use them. I’ve stayed in quite a few hostels in Canada and this is 100% the worst one so far.

Honestly the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The bathrooms weren’t cleaned properly, if cleaned at all. The common area was a mess, fridge and bins overflowing. Our room was way too small to have six people in it, the sheets weren’t cleaned properly, there were holes in the walls. We had a terrible roommate (not the fault of the hostel) but we couldn’t find the manager to ask to move rooms. I’ve stayed in many hostels all over the world, and this is by far the worst.

If you suffer from narcolepsy… If hygiene is not a priority… If you like the smell of deep-frier-grease… If you love listening to eclectic intense techno remixes of top 40 hits like “My Heart Will Go On” against your will as your body fights to sleep with other smelly strangers... If the sounds of obstructive sleep apnea sound like ocean waves to you… If a window view of every dumpster and oil traps from surrounding hotspot is intriguing... If you wonder what the top chef is doing on HIS smoke break... IF this is how you want to spend your weekend getaway, then this is the Hostel for you!

We have booked this hotel and have reasons we cannot attend so we contacted them for refund but the customer service was terrible. DID NOT GIVE A IMMEDIATE RESPONSE to whether they can process the refund or not. TRIED to get a response from them through emails. SENT 6 and did not respond to ONE. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. WASNT listening to customer and lied they DIDNT RECEIVE MONEY.
