ViewPoint Hotel

I stayed at this hotel last weekend. This was second visit and this time the experience was terrible. I booked a luxury suite with king bed. I paid a total of $507 for one night. The room I was given did not have any kitchen. Not sure how that can be a suite. I stayed at a condo style suite in February that is fully equipped with a kitchen and laundry facility. I paid $250 for one night at that time. This time I was traveling with my child that is why I booked the same kind of room. But the room I was given had none of those amenities. No microwave and no stove to warm up food for my kid. They gave me the room in the hotel's website. It did not have any kitchenette, no microwave, only a wine cooler. A microwave and fridge is important when we travel with a child who was with me during check-in. The room we stayed in did not have any cell service from both AT&T and T-mobile. There was no phone in the room to call the reception or the emergency number they have given us. The hotel description says that they have a restaurant on site. But without a cell service or room service phone there was no way to call anyone including the emergency number. They had a WiFi network but it was not secure. There was no privacy acknowledgement and we tried not to use the WiFi network due to privacy concerns. The room had a great view. A lot of tech amenities but no cell service or secure WiFi. The room did not have a phone to call the reception or room service. There was no dresser to put our clothes in. No microwave and proper fridge (only a wine cooler). It took us forever to figure out how to get inside the bathroom and it was not easy to figure out how to close the blinds on the glass bathroom wall. It is a huge privacy issue when we travel with kids. When we got in the bathroom there were dirty towels on the floor with stains. The smart TV had Netflix app but instead of a kids account there was an account name "keenks". I had to make sure my kid is not exposed to any rated videos. There were no restaurant leaflets that we could order food from. The hotel has safety issues. They have Exit marked with lit. signs but no way to access the exit. The doorway was locked. Not sure how to evacuate at the time of emergency (maybe Tsunami). The grounds were not well lit. It was rainy night and could have caused me and my child have an injury due to fall. I have left both voicemail and text messages on their emergency line but they never got back. Not sure what they mean by emergency. When I told the management about the issues next morning they treated me pretty badly in front of my child. I felt threatened and my child was terrified.

What can I say? The view from our room, 109, will leave you speechless! The atmosphere at the Viewpoint is so relaxing and inviting! The rooms are spacious, clean, and stocked will all the amenities you need. I enjoyed using their garment steamer so much I bought the same one to use at home. When we went for a nighttime walk, we used the lanterns that were in the closet. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, fabulous customer service! They text you to see if there is anything that you need. The organic coffee they provide is amazing, everyone enjoyed it. My daughter loved swimming in the well heated outdoor pool with a view of the ocean. Our extended family of 5 all loved this trip and did not want to leave! We cannot wait to come back to The Viewpoint again very soon!!! Thank you for your amazing hospitality!

I wanted a modern space but with the traditional, coastal flair. This was it. Staff was friendly and helpful. Suite was large with contemporary beach decor and breathtaking views from our big bay window and patio. Location is close to main highway or a quick drive to the beach. And the beach is amazing. I've seen some reviews that it's overpriced but based on comparisons to others based on room size, location...it seemed inline. I would definitely go back!

AMAZING, AMAZING hotel!!! We stayed in #4 and it was breathtaking. Wonderful views of the lighthouse and waterfront. We had appetizers and drinks at the outdoor restaurant, and it was also amazing. Bacon Wrapped scallops were to die for. We will be back and stay here again! Perfect stay for our first visit to Maine!

While the staff was very friendly and the view of the Nubble Lighthouse was stunning, this hotel has areas it needs to improve. We stayed in a room that was brand new but very cold and industrial..we couldn't work the tv control, all the switches and buttons got confusing, the shower was an open one and the whole bathroom was wet after a shower (we had to use most of the towels to clean up water), there is no place on site to get coffee or breakfast, the coffee in the room is a teapot that you can put hot water over a coffee bag that takes 8 minutes to steep and when the bag is removed leaves you with a half cup of cold coffee (no microwave). I get what they are trying to do but it isn't efficient. Also extremely overpriced.

If you are familiar with the New England coast, you know there are precious few properties that are modern, clean and actually located on the water. This property is all that and then some. These owners have created something special that is clearly aimed at those with a more youthful attitude. It was always pretty cool but the new rooms they’ve added this year are unmatched on the New England coast in terms of style (it’s an updated, hip new take on Mid Century) and view (unobstructed lighthouse views from everywhere in your room including the bathroom!). They serve an elevated high quality limited menu from food trucks on the property complete with an outdoor dining space lit with string lights and fire tables. To be clear, this not a Four Seasons. No one is going to follow you around and kiss your butt. What it is, is an amazing location with well appointed rooms and an unforgettable view. We’ve stayed three times in two years and we’ve found the staff to be very pleasant and responsive. I am young and retired and my wife and I spend a significant amount of time hunting for properties like this one from Connecticut to Maine. I’m telling you, this a Gem and it would seem these owners have more coming soon. Stay Tuned!

This hotel looks pretty in pictures but when you arrive you are greeted by rude hotel staff. They offer nothing in terms of housekeeping or any other hotel amenities. They are trying to sell themselves as a boutique hotel for adults only, not sure why anyone single would want to stay off the beaten path where this place is. They are over priced and pretentious. You can easily find a hotel within walking distance to the town and beach and pay a lot less!!

We stayed at « Stones Throw » and the staff was incredibly welcoming. The food was delicious! We also stayed at the « Viewpoint » and it is definitely the most beautiful place to stay in Maine. We will absolutely make it our go to every year. Lynda and Alex

What a beautiful location. The suites are large and nicely decorated. The electric fireplace is a great touch The grounds are well maintained and the views - oh the views! Also, the No contact check in/out process is awesome. We will be returning!
