Check in was quick, efficient and staff were very welcoming. The lethal suite was spacious with all the amenities one could ask for. The down side for me was lack of service at breakfast, tables not cleared, tables that were cleared hadn’t been re set. Had to chase for cutlery. The server just kept checking the various breakfast pots, most were empty at 10.30 and not refilled. Juice container was empty, had to chase, cold milk empty, had to chase. The cup of tea took that long to arrive we had finished our breakfast. I asked if he’d been to Darjeeling to get the tea. The server with a little pony at the back of his head was surly and lazy. Second day of breakfast with different server was totally different. Everything was spot on. The other issues were with the downstairs bar and food area. Ordered our drinks asked for a menu and server disappeared. I was hoping for another drink but no one was there to ask. So went to upstairs restaurant, waited 15 mins and not a server in sight. I advised reception of the very bad, well actually non existent service. We left hotel and went outside instead for food and drinks, were the service was much better. Room service was excellent as were the cleaning staff. Anything we requested was delivered promptly. Sort out your staff (usually hiding in a corner somewhere with their phones) as this level of service is what is spoiling your hotel. Overall (food and restaurant issues aside) an excellent and relaxing stay.
