I had high hopes for this hotel because of the location and a few of the ratings I read before booking...but our experience was not at all what I expected.
First, the hotel doesn't have thermostats in each room. Our room was hot and stuffy when we arrived. There was a wall fan (like many hotels have) in there and it was turned on but did absolutely nothing to change the feel in the room. I called the front desk and they confirmed that the hotel is all on one heating/cooling system with no thermostats in the rooms. They suggested we open the window(s). We did this, but even on the 11th floor, the amount of noise we could hear from outside was ridiculous. We left the windows open while we went out to explore the city and the room felt a little better when we returned, but it was not comfortable for us to sleep because of noise, temperature, and the bed.
Speaking of the bed...this brings me to the 2nd issue we had with our room. I would liken the comfort level of the bed to throwing a blanket on the floor and sleeping there. The mattress and pillows were horrible. To anyone reading this - if you don't like a firm bed, look for another hotel!
Now, all was not lost on the issues we had. The hotel and room itself were very clean and seemed pretty modern given the age of the building. The bathroom and shower were nice
