Hotel Serena Cortina

Good location, just a short walk to the centre. Hotel has free parking. The rooms are a bit dated... but everything was comfortable for a night's stay. A little over priced, but maybe this was because we stayed January 3rd in the Holiday season.

O hotel é bom, bom custo benefício, com ótima localização há 10 minutos caminhando do centrinho de Cortina, estacionamento gratuito, um detalhe negativo é que o quarto que fiquei era bem antigo, e o café da manhã era muito fraco, ovos mexidos ruins e poucas opções de frutas.

This is an absolutely charming hotel in the traditional Italian style. It is spotlessly clean, the rooms are warm and comfortable and we had a small balcony with a beautiful view of the Dolomites. The public areas are warm and comfortable, again beautifully clean and traditionally furnished . The food is excellent -four course dinners- with antipasto, pasta, main and dessert. The location is good and very near to a beautiful pedestrianised walkway. I would highly recommend

On arrival our ski bus stopped at the bottom of a hill which Crystal say is a 7 min walk up to get to hotel. It isn’t. 2-3 mins at most. Check in was easy and pleasant. We were given room 111, yeah, small, dated furniture and a very tiny bathroom. However, everything was clean and tidy, room was warm, shower had plenty of near instant hot water. Breakfast was sufficient, pastries, fruit, toast, cereal, cold meat and cheese, scrambled egg and bacon, juice and hot drinks. No queues when we went down @ 8.30. Bar area a little disappointing, staff stretched and often no one to serve drinks. Also not many places to sit and a very cold draught when someone enters front. Evening meals were not to everyone’s taste but always found something. Menu chosen night before. Staff were very good and friendly, it was my wife’s birthday whilst there, cake organised, lights dimmed and all joined in with “happy birthday” many thanks. Would I stay here again? Yes we would, however, not with Crystal Ski, that’s a different review.

We stayed for 4 nights during the last week of September and early October & it was our first time in the Dolomites. It was walking distance to town and there is free parking in the hotel. It was in a good location where restaurants and shops are walking distance. We ate dinner in restaurants close by. At check in, the reception gave us a list of recommended restaurants. The staff were nice. The breakfast was filling and they offered a variety of food and drinks. The pastries were not so good. We had better ones in the hotel at Val Gardena. On our first night, there was a big bus and in the morning, the breakfast area was so full & chaotic. There was almost no table available. The coffee/espresso maker line was very long and they ran out of cups, etc. I felt sorry for the staff who looked overwhelmed. Thank goodness that the next 3 days were better since we were in a rush to go to the mountains. We had a standard room in the Annex with a good view of the mountains & a little patio with chairs. It was quiet at night. The room rate we got was reasonably priced for the area. I was a little chilly at night and the hotel staff told us that they don’t turn on the gas until winter. Overall, our stay was good.

The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from the center. Room and bathroom were ok, mattress and pillow as well. Breakfst was plentiful and rich of sweet and savory, with home made cakes. They also offered pieces of pizza for the day. The price was in line with the category of the hotel, but positively moderate for being in Cortina.

Very nice hotel, reception was smooth despite off season. The staff were both friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious, new smart tv a rarity in Italy even in the midrange hotel bracket. Bathrooms are nice decent shower. Breakfast was solid eggs, pastries, meats, juices and coffee. In a good location few minutes walk from centre and shops.
