Small Luxury Hotels of the World - Rosapetra Spa Resort

Honestly, I do not know where to start. Each of the depar**ents is flawed, understaffed and poorly run. The new Management is trying to recover from inheriting a property in decline. There is a very, very, very long road ahead. First and foremost,: attitude must change! The adage that the Customer/Guest is always right, does not come even close to vocabulary at Rosapetra. If a rotten egg is served for breakfast, it is the guest's palate or the guest's taste buds that must be having an issue, because the carton of eggs "was just delivered" and therefore: "there could not be a rotten eggs inside". Meanwhile the guest is becoming ill, but...who cares? When housekeeping breaks personal items in the room, the denial and the stonewalling only rival those of a political candidate with 1% of the votes who claims (s)he is going to be the winner. Unfortunately, when forced to admit the deed, the staff closes ranks and your item(s) is gone. When the SPA, makes major mistakes on day/time of your appoin**ent(s), it is your fault. You, the Customer, is in the wrong for showing up on time. Ms. Eleonora (SPA Manager of sort) reminds you that her staff cannot make a mistake. They are the all-knowing, all understanding. You are just the ***** paying their salaries. When the guest spends over $1000 (one thousand) per night, and the reservation INCLUDES a full English-style breakfast, one quickly finds out that an omelette or a toast are not included. In fact, there is a long list of items NOT included in the breakfast. 5 stars...really? However, if one queries the Restaurant's Manager about the aforementioned charges, he will dazzle you with stories of how long it takes to cook an omelette versus 3 sunny side up style eggs. The embellishment continues detailing how the ham comes from a very special farm and it must be charged extra when put in a toast. It would be funny if it were not tragic and unbecoming. If you book the standard room, you better travel light, very light, because there is no space for luggage in the prison cell size room. (I have never been to prison). Orange is the new black docet. Do you want a mattress brought to the terrace? Expect to wait for 45 minutes. The same is true if you order room service: one hour wait and it is delivered cold, but that is just because the restaurant is understaffed. Every item is charged as an extra, I am surprised that the elevator does not have a coin slot. The head Concierge with a "local" pedigree cannot find a train schedule, even if you type the departure and arrival points for him. Oh well, it is your fault: if you would just travel by air like all other guests!!! However he is very good in taking kick-backs from the "hand picked" safe taxi drivers. The new Mandarin Oriental will open 4 minutes down the street, in the old Cristallo. Those in the know will flock to a real 5 stars property. The Aman Rosa Alpina (not Rosapetra) will open 50 minutes further away. There is a gentleman from Sri Lank

Rosapetra is a wonderful hotel, BUT they only have one restaurant and they do prioritize outsiders VS who is staying at the hotel. In short: you have to book a table 72 hours in advance to be able to eat at the only restaurant / only option inside the hotel ... as the hotel is not in the city, not having the flexibility to just stay in and eat when you are tired after a full day of skiing is far from what one expects from a 5 star hotel...

Beautiful rustic style rooms, well-appointed. Absolutely unfaultable service in all areas of hotel. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the city centre from early morning to late night. There is a beautiful bar and hotel. Breakfast is included and there is free WiFi. There are amazing picture windows framing the mountains and there are walking tracks around the hotel. The spa was very relaxing and had lots of different services. There is the option for children to use the pool up to 2pm and there are areas that are child-free, which allows different guests to make use of the facilities.

I stayed in the hotel for a few days in August 2023. The hotel is a beautiful building, with much wood and stylish furniture. It is close to the main road, but rooms in the back are silent and they have a beautiful view over the Tofana mountains. Everything is super clean. Staff is super nice, friendly and helpful. However, rooms are really very small (too small for what they cost), even if they are well organised and all amenities are available. We were there during the summer, but it is difficult to imagine where guests could put winter gear. Something that really shocked me was that all warm dishes for breakfast were not included and one needed to pay for them. I am talking about even scrambled eggs and pankakes... I have never found this in another four- or five-star hotel Generally speaking, in fact, the hotel is super expensive. Dinner is also very expensive, with a limited number of dishes and prices for all fish and meat dishes calculated by grams. All in all, even if it is a beautiful building and I rate it at four-stars (it will be unfair otherwise), I would not recommend it.

The crowds in Cortina are crazy right now but this hotel offers a refuge from the chaos. The concierge is by far the best. The outdoor sauna is a must with views that are dream worthy. There is an indoor pool with lovely spa and a wonderful gym with new techno equipment. A shuttle is available to town.

Stay away from this hotel. The staff is incredibly rude, specially the office manager. We booked spa trea**ents for one of the days we were staying. I was told to book the time early and the masseuse would discuss with me the kind of massage I wanted prior to the start. They assigned someone who didn’t speak and word of English and then proceeded to give me a massage in an inappropriate way where I had to stop within the first 10 minutes and ask her to bring someone in that spoke English. My husband and I then went to privately speak to the office manager and she said it’s some “special technique” they use where they massage parts of your body you would never expect a professional spa would do. She was very argumentative and showed little empathy to our situation. The rest of our stay was really uncomfortable since the staff stopped being responsive to any of our requests. We couldn’t wait to end our stay. Needless to say we will never book this hotel again and recommend everyone stays away.

The hotel and a**osphere were a five. The hotel has a chic small upscale feel and is extremely nice. The rooms are rustic and the views are amazing. We had a room on the back facing the mountains and the bike trail. The town is a 20-30 minute walk depending on your pace and a 5 minute shuttle ride (provided by the hotel). The cycling trail is nice and right behind the hotel. The restaurant was great - food and service. Breakfast is a free buffet along with a menu you can order off of for a price. At dinner we both had the beef through room service which was very nice. As noted in other posts, the service can be a bit spotty and dismissive at times. The only reason this is a four and not a five.

We were on a road-trip through northern Italy. One of our destinations was Cortina D'Ampezzo. There we stayed at the Rosapetra hotel. From the moment you drive onto the property you are taken care of. It is an a**ospheric hotel in every sense. The use of fine materials creates an exceptionally luxurious and comfortable a**osphere. The spa is fantastic, luxurious and fully equipped. The staff is empathetic, extremely customer-oriented but also solution-oriented. In the restaurant you can have an excellent dinner the wine list has fine wines. Breakfast also leaves nothing to be desired. In short, a carefree stay in a luxurious ambience.

After many years in Cortina at Savoia this has been the first time we booked at Rosapetra. It’s been a fantastic experience. We have enjoyed being spoiled by the staff. Gabriele and Eleonora are always very dedicated and available to please Customers. Breakfast is very good. The rooms are wonderful and comfortable all in wood. The spa is absolutely top level. The location a bit outside of the town and away from the slopes but the shuttle service always very quickly available to support you if you don’t want to use the car. The garage is spacious and included. We will be back for sure. Thank you Rosapetra.
