Hôtels proches de Club Aquarium Cozumel, Cozumel

PROs: Across the street from the ocean and a great shore diving spot. Beautifully landscaped grounds, nice pool, beach club, and open-air restaurant with swim-up bar. Traditional Mexican hotel layout with open courtyards and lanais that have nice views of garden and/or ocean. Peaceful vibe. CONs: Most of the restaurants in the area are overpriced Senor Frog/Hooters-type establishments catering to the drink-and-dive crowd. Restaurants in the north of town and just off Centro are much better quality and value, but require a cab into town. Buffet breakfast was carb-heavy steam table fare which was overpriced at more than $15/person. Restaurants in the US would offer this for free. Front desk staff was not particularly friendly or helpful. When my husband lost his bag in the lobby and they did not find it in lost and found, they did not check for it behind the desk until we asked a second time and they magically ”found” it. A little effort and thought here would have made a difference to us. The beach club is nice but the swimming was much too rough for me (located between two piers and the road, with mostly a view of the cruise ships in front). MAKELLOS!PERFEKT! Das Personal, die Bauarbeiter, die Inhaber, Carmen, Jorge, Cindy einfach alle die in dieses Guest House rein und rausgehen sind überrfreundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Es gibt gratis Tücher, eine Glasflasche und Kostenloses Wasser um die Flasche auszufüllen. Täglich frischen Kaffee, ein Waschservice, ein kleiner aber feiner Swimming pool mit sauberen Wasser. Saubere und grosse Zimmer, saubere Bäder. Meine Familie wohnt selber in Cozumel, sodass ich weiss das die Lage des Guest Houses perfekt und ”sicher” gelegen ist. In 10Min erreicht man zu Fuss ” el Malecon” ( das Zentrum von Cozumel). Man hat unendlich viele Sitz ”Picnick” Gelegenheiten und sogar ein ”Yoga oder Tanztrainingsraum” mit Spiegel. Was möchte man mehr? Wir sind seit einer Woche hier und freuen uns noch eine Woche bleiben zu dürfen.

I felt the price we paid for this hotel was not warranted based on the quality for the following reasons: 1. Shower drain was broken and had a piece of round plastic covering it to protect you getting cut on the metal pieces. 2. Decor is not great. 3. We had to ask for toilet paper a few times as opposed to it being supplied during cleaning. 4. We talked to a number of other people who paid less than half what we paid - in fairness this was my fault. I booked on booking.com and paid what they asked. One couple booked at the hotel and were able to negotiate a price less than half what we paid. 5. It is situated across the street from a night club and the music is very loud. We initially thought it would make sleeping a problem but fortunately it didn't bother us at all. 6. Smoking was allowed on the patio during breakfast. On the positive side: 1. Staff are great. The breakfast staff and cleaning staff are very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast staff will cut up fruit for you if you ask. Miriam was a favorite for us because she spoke fluent english. 2. The place is very clean - they are cleaning all day. The pool is cleaned regularly - but is quite cold. I liked it this way actually. 3. It is close to the downtown plaza. 4. The AC works really well. 5. They have two hotel cats. :) This could be a negative for some people. 6. The bed is very comfortable - we had a king sized bed which was fantastic. The bedding was changed frequently - I think every other day. The bed is made up every day. Overall I would stay here again but would expect a much lower price.

I was spied on in the shower by a hotel employee, and management tried to cover it up. It wasn’t until we involved the police that they became cooperative. What happened? Look at the photos, and you’ll see a sliding window in the shower that opens to a hallway closet. While I was showering, I looked up and saw a man’s face in the window, watching me. I screamed, grabbed a towel, and ran out to the hallway. When I opened the closet next to my room, I found that same man wearing a hotel uniform, trying to climb down from the window that overlooks my shower. He tried to push past me, but I caught him by the sleeve and took his radio. I shouted for help, and he said over and over, “Please, don’t tell.” Other guests arrived to assist me, and started taking photos and video of the scene. The desk clerk named Angel came upstairs and initially claimed that he’d told the pervert peeping tom named Vicktor to get a broom from that closet. Observe from the photo that this is not a utility closet, and is empty except for pipes. We also found footholds carved into the cinderblock beneath the shower window. Once we pointed out the falsehood of his claim, Angel then said that Vicktor was never in the closet, that it’s his word against mine. Angel refused to call the hotel manager, and then refused to call the police. He took Victor to the office behind the hotel desk, and we saw him on his phone, smiling and laughing. Members of my group called the police and contacted the hotel owner Gilberto, who said he would come in 2 hours because he was not nearby. I give credit to the local police in Cozumel, who responded quickly, and also called their supervisor to the scene, who took our reports and investigated the closet. We discovered that many rooms, on all four floors of the hotel, have these fake utility closets with windows opening to the shower. None of the closets were locked, and only women had been assigned to these rooms by the front desk clerk. When the owner Gilberto arrived, he initially denied everything, then once the police sergeant supervised the interaction, the owner finally conceded that “because it’s bad for business,” he would repair the shower windows and lock the closets, and he also said Vicktor the peeping tom would be terminated. However Gilberto the owner denied that Angel the desk clerk had any part in covering up the incident or funneling female guests to those rooms. I was very concerned about what appeared to be a serious safety and privacy problem—who knows many staff are involved in their peeping tom operation and how long they’ve been doing it? How young are their victims? Are they taking photos and video too? I’ve never felt so violated and disgusted. There are plenty of nice places to stay in Cozumel, go someplace that takes the privacy and safety of their guests seriously.

L'hôtel est en 2 parties: Hotel B et Hotel B Unique. J'ai l'impression que certains avis ici concernent le B et pas le B unique. De notre côté, nous avons séjourné 3 nuits au B Unique, qui est la partie rénovée de l'hôtel, plus ”moderne”. Notre séjour était parfait: nous avions une très belle chambre sur mer, avec balcon. La décoration était moderne et très belle, et la chambre était impeccablement propre. Le restaurant de l'hôtel était également excellent, et nous y avons pris la majorité de nos repas lors de notre séjour, car nous avons eu du mal à trouver mieux! Le personnel est au petit soin, très aimables et accueillants en plus. Enfin, il y a 2 piscines: l'une pour le B Unique (réservée aux adultes), et l'autre côté Hotel B, plus familiale. Il était difficile d'avoir de la place à la piscine côté B Unique, car, beaucoup plus belle, tous les clients de l'autre côté y allaient aussi. C'est d'ailleurs un bon plan, car les chambres y sont moins chères (mais moins belles). Il y a également accès à la mer depuis l'hôtel, ce qui fait qu'on y est vraiment très bien. Je recommanderai cet hôtel les yeux fermés!

Très bel hôtel, tres propre. Toutes les chambres ont une superbe vue sur la mer. Plage petite mais parfaite pour la plongée en apnée. Il n’y a pas d’algues a cet hôtel quoique qu’il y en avait beaucoup sur lamplage des hôtels situés au sud du Westin. Vu beaucoup de poissons de chaque côté du quai. Merveilleux. La nourriture excellente et le service aux deux restaurants un peu long, selon nos critères. mais très bien. Nous avons pris la majorité de nos repas au Las graviotas pour la gentillesse et le professionnalisme des employés et la vue sur la mer. Merci aux employés Cap. Manuel Noh, Juan, Carmen. Virginia, xochitl, nosendo et Carlos et tous les autres. Très belle semaine. Nous avons pris l’excursion de plongée en apnée offerte par l’hôtel. Nous avons été satisfaits. Nous avons marché jusqu’à San Miguel, 1h00 environ par la promenade.
