Hotel Continental

The hotel was ok. There was a female concierge who was lovely and accommodating but the male concierge was not. When you asked questions about the bar and restaurant he waived off that the restaurant was too full to have a drink and that it was uncomfortable to have a drink at the “honesty bar” in the middle of the check in area. The pizza place where I ate instead gave minimal toppings and again getting a drink is like getting blood from a stone. I came to see the cathedral, been there done that: Cremona can be done in a day trip- don’t worry about staying.

So I travelled to Cremona to see the Cremona Cathedral with a crypt. After a train ride from Milan, which was better than the hotel, I found there was 1 taxi that serviced the entire town. People were arguing and he seemed to be yelling at someone on his phone, so I grabbed the bus. I had contacted the hotel when I booked for a transfer from the train station but never heard from them. When I arrived I was earlier than check in time and the woman in front of me also checked in but got a room. The lady at reception told me I was too early, I said that she also checked in early and now has a room so after much disgruntlement she gave me a room. This is a concrete maze and the air conditioning does not go below 22…now it was 37 degrees when I arrived and the air con wasn’t even on. In the evening for dinner the food is overpriced at the upstairs restaurant- the space should have been a pool! The downstairs pizza joint is also over priced- my drink came after the pizza and they were stingy on the veggies. Awful, horrible hotel, horrible door, uncomfortable bed, uncomfortable will never return

Run down and poorly managed hotel. The rusty front façade says it all. Rooms are hot with air-con that turns itself every hour, so a good nights sleep is impossible. Disgusting breakfast, find another hotel.

Nicely located a few minutes walk from the centre of Cremona, where there are a good number of restaurants, shops and bars. The hotel is clean, reasonably comfortable and not badly presented. It may be too modern and a bit of a concrete maze for some however. It was quite hot in the rooms and it looked as if 22C was the lower limit on the air conditioning. Being only supplied with one small pillow did not make for the best nights sleep. On that note the front rooms onto the street are noisy, especially if you keep the window open to cool the room. The food was nothing special, basic, reasonably presented and as in most of Italy far from hot on arrival. Breakfast was again basic. If you eat in the basement it can be claustrophobic and warm down there. There is a roof top restaurant which is superb for seafood, it's not cheap but well worth a try, we ate there on our second night as we were not impressed with the hotel food. There is also a pizza place next to the reception . I cannot speak to the staff as I did not interact or really see any of them, other than saying good morning at breakfast and handing in my room key.. Rated very good based on location and the roof top restaurant, other than that probably just above average. OK for a one or two night stay, but would not be my first choice should I be in the area again.

Lovely little hotel on a roundabout close to centre. Staff are amazing, especially the kitchen and restaurant staff. Rooms are clean and the shampoo/bodywash is great. City centre with cathedral just a stroll away. Great place for a stopover

We stayed overnight as part of a coach tour. Dinner was in the basement. Because of the walls and ceiling, the noise was horrendous. The service was slow. The meal was just OK, but pasta made up a third of it. Breakfast in the morning was a good meal but because another coach party was in, it was difficult to get it and many people had to wait. The room only took one party. The decor was modern-garish - pretty awful. The room was fine.

Only stayed one night en route with a coach tour. Room was fine, comfy, nice shower. Dinner was a set meal which was a bit bland, had clearly been kept warm. No choice, nothing to drink unless paid for ie no plain water. Breakfast was good. The biggest problem was it couldn't cope with 2 coaches arriving. Reception was chaotic, dining room didn't have enough seats despite attempting to stagger the groups. No bar staff - they had an 'honesty' bar - help yourself then pay at reception, including unmeasured spirits. Very strange.

I actually went here in approximately February march 2019 & meant to write a review at the time but never got around to it. The rooms were of a good standard and I enjoyed my stay. I cannot really comment on the other facilities as it was a business trip so I are out all of the time and due to the time of year the bars weren’t open.
