Sumaq is across the street from the Rio Urubamba, which at this point is a rushing rapid. Even with the windows closed, we fell asleep to that wonderful sound. And woke up relaxed. The beds were super-comfortable, and the room got really dark at night. Check-in was relaxed, with a cold (non-alcoholic) drink, just lounging on a sofa until they found our reservation. We had accidently booked the wrong night but they transferred our reservation to the actual night that we had arrived. "Don't worry, we have a room for you," was comforting to hear. We had both dinner and breakfast at their restaurant. Dinner was delicious and artfully presented. I had sort of Peruvian chicken fingers - the chicken was coated in quinoa, served with a potato puree and vegetables. Quite creative! The breakfast buffet was large and filling. We also had a couples massage - 30 minutes of jacuzzi followed by 60 minutes of massage, about US$250 for two people total. Finally, we were taking the train back to Ollantaytambo. The hotel transferred our bags to the train station for us, part of their service. This hotel is definitely a repeater.
