My grandmother and I stayed overnight while biking the GAP trail. Making a last minute reservation about 10pm the night before we left for that section of the trail, we decided we would wing it and bike there after getting off the trail in Connellsville. After we fell behind our estimated arrival time, Rick began to call us out of concern periodically for about two hours until we finally heard the phone ringing. We informed him of where we were and that we would be there soon. When we arrived he had his truck running and was just about to head out and come find us, knowing the roads were quite risky in places to ride on. After making sure we caught our breath and wouldn't collapse, he gave us a tour of the BnB and gave us a bit of history about each room and making us feel at home. From providing Scrabble for us to play in the evening to making a superb breakfast and accommodating for my dietary restrictions, Donna and Rick really outshone all expectations. They radiated the spirit of hospitality and truly seemed to take a joy out of getting to know each of the guests personally, right down to memorizing our names and exchanging family history and stories. Definitely ask them about their journey of creating the retreat center. You are in for a real treat! If you have any questions, just ask them! They are an incredible couple. Make sure to get your room using their website's booking system. Also, they have a free shuttle service and accommodate for bikers! (We found this out only after we arrived because I failed to read through the webpage thoroughly.) Definitely take advantage of it unless you are confident biking country roads with a high speed limit and can climb a hill that has over a 10% grade. P.S. If you take the shuttle, ask Rick two things: 1. To take the scenic route on the way back to Connellsville 2. The window. He will know what you mean :)
