Cranston House

We have stayed at Cranston House previously and had a first floor room this time we were put on the second floor in the roof the room for £110 was hugely overpriced it was a small room where the one who slept near the window had to be very careful not to bump into the slopping ceiling !! I won’t be staying there again especially when I saw later it was being advertised for £59

We travelled up from Cornwall for a hospital appointment the next day. We were quite late, but were warmly welcomed. Our room was everything we hoped for. A large comfortable bed, pleasantly decorated room with all the little touches and attention to detail that did the owners credit. Neat, tidy and clean with an ensuite bathroom that was warm and the shower was hot! The road is quiet and in very easy walking distance of the town centre with loads of restaurants to choose from. The best review we can give is that we are back to stay for two nights next month.

We arrived Friday afternoon for a two night stay, firstly we was pleased to have onsite parking and not have to park on the street, that’s a big plus factor for us. Owner wasn’t present upon checking in which was fine for us, they left special instructions for us via email to enter to obtain the key and entered into the warm house stress free. The Room was lovely and clean, heating was on, it didn’t take too long to warm the large room. Lovely chocolates left on towels and an informative booklet packed with plenty of information on the local area, amenities and places to visit. A perfectly situated stay to branch off and visit local towns as we did. We Would happily recommend this place and we’d stay definitely here again. Our room was well priced and equipped with everything you’d need especially if you’d forgotten something. We didn’t opt in for breakfast however it’s a nice bonus if you get there and choose to opt in and book the breakfast. (A good choice on the menu) Thanks for a smooth stay.

Very well organised place with charming period features throughout. Easy to reach twin centre and very affordable for a night’s stay too. Only issue we had was the fact the owner forgot to turn the switch on for the shower water, resulting in delayed hot water. Maybe could do with a reminder?

Very comfortable stay - it was ideal for my needs, room was very clean and had everything I needed (and more). Bed was very comfortable. Host was friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay again

Very enjoyable 3 night stay. Incredibly comfortable king size bed, good hanging space for clothes, iron on request, and lovely shower. We didn't have breakfast but would imagine if it's on par with the hotel and service, you won't be disappointed

Brian is a very hospitable and experienced host. The House is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood. My attic room was cozy, well provisioned and comfortable. The traditional English breakfast was a delight. I plan to return and have already recommended the House to others.

I had a lovely stay at Cranston House, I was staying in East Grinstead whilst on a university placement and it was lovely coming back to this cosy BnB every evening. The mini fridge and hospitality tray inc. kettle in the room was much appreciated, the bed was very comfortable and everything was nicely presented and so clean. Highly recommend staying here, very very good value for money!

We stayed at Cranston for 1 night due to an appointment at the nearby hospital. Brian the host was friendly and helpful and we stayed right at the top in room 7. The room was spacious and had tea/coffee and biscuits and a hairdryer. Yes the decor is a little dated but to me it was irrelevant because the place was so spotlessly clean. No dust on skirting boards, or bits in between the joins on the stairs, sparkling shower screens kind of clean. The bed and the pillows were comfortable enough. The only downside was the neighbour next to us paced up and down his room until past midnight and started again when he woke at 3.45. Because it’s an old house (but beautiful) the floorboards did bang everytime he turned in the room and it was like he was walking in our room. However none of this was through the fault of the host and wasn’t really resolvable. The breakfast was extra at £10 per person. It was really lovely but whether you had 2 boiled eggs and 1 slice of bread or a full English, it was the same price. We would stay at Cranston again. It reminded me of holiday with my parents when I was child and we used to stay in lovely BnB’s. It was value for money and really close to the town and hospital.
