The Historic Elk Mountain Hotel

Beautiful historic hotel. Rooms are cozy and warm. Love the fact that their are no TV or phone distractions. Staff is great food was amazing. The staff was very inviting. We went for our anniversary and to look for a ghost hunt. We were not disappointed.

The hotel is beautiful and you can almost feel the hisoric vibe. Great rooms, friendly staff. The only difficulty I had was that, on arrival, the building was all locked up and I couldn't get in at first. I did manage to sneak in via a back door though and, 20 minutes or so later, someone turned up to check me in. Probably a good idea to let them know your expected arrival time (I forgor to do that). I would definitely recommend this hotel. Clean, comfortable and the bed was delightful.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay-staff was welcoming, the inn charming and food at dinner excellent! We were so full from dinner we declined the full morning breakfast and they put out a little coffee and muffin tray for us to take on the road. We would recommend a stay here to anyone traveling west.

Bring your own blanket. All three couples froze to death & the owners did not have the heat on in the hotel. I heard others complaining at breakfast too. No extra blankets. Lots of rules & threats in their binder about what you can’t do bit no concession for freezing all night. Not to mention it is directly across the street from a trailer park & they kept warning about locking tbe hotel door because people have come in late at night.

This is an historic hotel in a very small town. The hotel is very clean, beautifully decorated with fine furniture and modern bathrooms. The staff were very friendly. We enjoyed 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners in the hotel restaurant. The food was excellent as was the service in a spacious dining room. This is an outstanding, quiet, peaceful, and relaxing place to stay. We will return.

The Historic Elk Mountain Inn is lovely, romantic and delightful. Our room decor and furniture were pretty, true to the early 1900 era and very comfortable with private bath. Historic pictures adorn the halls and gathering rooms so you feel the charm of the Inn’s history. Staff were kind and helpful at every turn. Dinner and breakfast were enjoyed. Mid-week in Aug was not very busy. We felt lucky to find this hidden gem.

We stopped here for a night and ended up spending two. Beautifully updated historical hotel with a top rate restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The hotel presents a calm ambience that makes you want to stay the extra night. Highly recommended.

I've been waiting to come to the Elk Mountain Hotel for a long time, and this trip the timing worked out perfectly! I snagged a room and looked forward to the experience. Well, it will be something I won't forget for a while. First, the residence is beautiful; it is a sight to behold both when you see it after driving over the bridge and when you actually get inside -- that is maintained all the way into your room. It's old-time elegance. The bed and all the trappings are excellent -- even the wifi could sustain a Zoom call with downloading resources. So it's a great place to sit, work and sleep. Unfortunately, it ends there. Dinner is from 5:30-7pm, so I went down at 5:40 as I had a conference call at 6. No one was around; I waited. Nobody. I went upstairs to do my call, came down at 730, again, no one around. There is no food, no beverages, nothing else in the hotel, and nothing in town. I could drive 10min to the highway-side gas station for trucker food and drink [not the meal I was expecting!], but the rules are you can't bring in outside food. So, I'm drinking tepid tap water until morning (no ice available either). I'm glad I came and saw it, but the overall experience is off-putting.

We love the Elk Mountain Hotel! They accommodated us last minute since i80 closed. We were so happy to find a comfy bed and an even better dinner. The food and service is beyond wonderful. If you ever have the chance to enjoy this beautiful place please do! With deer running in the parking lot and a quiet vibe, you won’t regret it!!!
