En revanche, les chambres sont un peu sales, surtout la salle de bain, où l'on trouve de nombreux insectes morts sur les rideaux. La salle de bain manque même d'équipements de base (porte-savon, gobelet pour les brosses à dents, etc.). Il y avait des moustiques dans la chambre à notre arrivée. Le personnel ne semblait pas particulièrement préoccupé."

"Service impeccable d'Upul et de Sithija, surtout de Sithija. Il a été d'une aide précieuse à plusieurs égards : il a parcouru un kilomètre en courant, portant avec entrain ma petite valise bien lourde malgré son essoufflement, et m'a conduit à l'hôtel en moto, au sommet d'une pente raide. Il m'a également emmené à Ella en tuk-tuk et m'a trouvé un endroit pour faire laver mon linge. Il a même dressé l'assiette du riz frit que j'avais commandé au restaurant du coin et me l'a apportée dans ma chambre. Alors qu'il s'apprêtait à me conduire à mon prochain hôtel, un pneu de son tuk-tuk a éclaté. Après l'avoir réparé, il a secoué la tête d'un air rassurant et m'a souri. Upul nous a préparé un excellent petit-déjeuner et s'est montré plein de bonnes idées. Il m'a aidé à trouver des informations sur les transports et, lorsque j'ai décidé d'annuler ma réservation d'hôtel (difficile à trouver), il m'a aidé à trouver un autre hébergement à Ella. Situation : l'hôtel n'est pas situé à proximité immédiate d'Ella (qui est assez banale), mais à quelques pas du pont aux neuf arches. Vous vous réveillez avec une vue imprenable sur le magnifique paysage depuis votre balcon, pour une expérience sensorielle inoubliable. Chambres : Spacieuses et propres, avec un grand balcon. N'hésitez pas, vous y séjournerez ! Le chemin d'accès à l'hôtel est peut-être étroit et accidenté, avec des nids-de-poule, mais je n'en ai réalisé la beauté qu'une fois que je l'ai emprunté !"

"The location was absolutely stunning in the heart of the jungle but only a short walk to the nine arch bridge (you can even see the train passing through the trees during the day). The bird song and jungle noise was so peaceful, the rooms were clean, quality bedding and well thought out little touches in terms of toiletries (even some books on the shelf). The breakfast was delicious and so much food! But most importantly to note Yugesh was fantastic at attending to our needs whether that be to organise our laundry to be sent out and cleaned, making sure we had everything we needed for breakfast or coming with us on the walk to the bridge to get the best spots to film the train crossing, pictures etc. He was very kind, professional and thoughtful, he really made our trip. Another person to note was Nimal, the TukTuk driver who helped us easily get about. Free shuttle to Ella town from the hotel which is great! Anything else at an extra cost. Highly recommend this unique stay."

"Stay away from this hotel! The hotel rooms isn’t what’s pictured on booking sites, the entrance is through a forest on a mountain and through other buildings. The walls is stained, door is leaking, and the room are nasty. The entrance pathway crumbled under me so a nail went through my foot and got several scratches. It is NOT a hotel, not even a bungalow. I would rather sleep with the homeless dogs than stay there one night. We checked out 30 minutes after we checked in. At least the manager was nice enough to give a full refund and drive us to another hotel."

We didn't hear any noise, but it doesn't look very nice. There's no parking, and the bike bell broke during the night. The furniture isn't very new. It's best to book something in Ella in advance for the summer, or go elsewhere; it's incredibly crowded."

"We had a confirmed booking at “Tea Garden Holiday Inn” in Ella, but on arrival at 7 PM om 20th April, (after informing them in advance), the host /manager refused check-in, saying it’s “not suitable for elderly people.” This was never mentioned during booking, despite us having elderly family members and an infant. We were left stranded at night after a long journey. The host also misled us to another property claiming it was theirs, which turned out to be false and more expensive. Very unprofessional and irresponsible. I would not recommend this place."

"We arrived to celebrate my Dad’s Birthday on 26/07/26. The Birthday welcome was excellent. Our two days at UGA GHIRI felt like gentle escape into a peaceful dream. It was a perfect staycation for a relaxed getaway. It’s a very well maintained cozy Hotel surrounded by the hills beauty and excellent breathing of Ella. Every moment was filled with a friendly smile, calm, warmth and joy. It wasn’t just a stay - it is a feeling we will carry in our hearts for a very long time. Leaving this place was truly the hardest part. We are especially grateful to the whole staff, their team effort, their wonderful care with the welcoming friendly smiles, delicious healthy meals made our stay even more special. We greatly appreciate and are thankful to the Joint Venture Management of Uga Ghiri for introducing this all inclusive experience to this eco friendly tourist area. All the very best to Uga Ghiri. "We booked this hotel well in advance with an advance payment, which based on the request of the hotel. During the advance payment, inquired about the hotel access road for the vehicles, was possible and confirmed by the hotel itself. On the arrival day (16th April) we turned from the main road to the hotel access road and the drive possibility was limited to certain distance from the main road. We tried our best to take our vehicle up to the hotel even with the help of people were in around, was not possible due to the condition of the road. We contacted the hotel and reported this difficulty and unfortunately the option got from the hotel was, somehow take the vehicle up to the hotel. Since it is almost night, no body was willing to assist us in around, unless we walk up to the hotel with all the luggages and belongings. We made our last effort for some time to move our vehicle up to the hotel and we had to give up all our efforts finally. Since the hotel did not take any further assistance towards us, we had to to look for an alternative option to spend the night. We asked for the possibility of getting a shuttle service, was just ignored. Sad part is, still we did not get any favourable assistance or courtesy call to check our condition and this made us a really disappointment with the hotel. We never received such a negative behaviour and negative attitude from any of the hospitality properties. There is no refund for our advance payment even."

"We had a wonderful stay at Greenland Villa. It is perfectly located right next to the Kithal Ella train station, from which you can directly board the famous train that goes through the nine arch bridge. The property was beautiful, very well equipped with everything we needed including a great kitchen. It was clean, well ventilated, and more importantly it felt like home. The owner took time to decorate it with great taste. On top of that he was such a humble and polite person.Upon arrival he gave us a ride to get our groceries; another day he brought us his homegrown vegetables, which was such a nice gesture. Having said that, there were a couple of issues that needed to be addressed. The WiFi connection was not great, probably because of the location, but we struggled with it. And the breakfast was very carb-heavy, which may work for you but wasn't particularly to our liking. Nonetheless, We would book it again if I ever come back to Ella. We can only recommend Greenland villa highly."

However, due to the surrounding chaotic development, the roads are narrow and steep, so driving there is thrilling ㅜㅜ.. The staff try to be friendly, but charging that price in the current state is excessive."
