Dungowan Holiday Accommodation

Normally head north for Xmas but decided to stay at Dungowan and wasn't disappointed. Direct on the waters edge, kayaks free to use also pedal boats to rent. Kids loved the fishing off the jetty. Apar**ent was lovely and clean, well appointed with smart tv for those rainy days ( which it rained a few days ) Jervis bay is a lovely area and Erowal Bay is quiet but not too far from anything Best Chris**as accommodation we have had.. Thanks again for a great stay.

Dungowan and Glenrowan Holiday Accommodation - 99 - 101 Naval Parade, Erowal Bay Whilst the house is set on the lovely St George basin, never before have I arrived at any holiday home, Airbnb or hotel to find our accommodation ABSOLUTELY FILTHY. If you want to stay in a dirty dump, you have come to the right place. It is a 4 bedroom home as advertised but it would have been cleaner and more comfortable to live in my car! I just want to give others a heads-up as we all work hard for our money and when we go on holiday, we want to get what we have been promised. I actually called and spoke with the owner prior to making my booking and asked if the place was renovated and was advised it was. In reality, it is a really old house. We arrived to find the house really dirty and grimy - from sticky dirty timber floors to grimy kitchen countertops and dining room table. Two of the four bedrooms have built-in cupboards - we wanted to unpack but the drawers were dirty with all dust and black specks in them. The cupboards in the one bedroom were completely mouldy (shelves covered in mould) - even with them shut, the smell of mould was terrible and permeated through the entire room. So we had to live out of our suitcases! There were also dirty smelly blankets on the shelves in the cupboards in both bedrooms. The linen in the one bedroom had rust marks all over it and the towels provided were threadbare. And one hand towel provided in the bathroom for our entire stay for a house that sleeps 8! Whilst the fridge worked, it did not keep anything cold. My friend woke up the first night to find something crawling on her head to find a large cockroach in her bed climbing in her hair. And the next morning when we went out on the deck to sit at the outdoor table, there was another cockroach doing the death rattle on its back on the table. The motor for the aircon was located in the main bedroom. It wasn’t possible to run at night due to the extremely loud noise it made. On complaining about the noise on our departure and advising that the rest of the house was really hot, we were told that the aircon was channelled throughout the house except there were no vents in any other room and no instructions on how to use it. We could not use the BBQ it was so dirty. The pots and pans in the kitchen cupboards were sticky with grime and dirt and the cutlery had dried food caked onto them. We had to go out and buy disposable cups, plates and crockery just to have a cup of coffee and to allow my teenage son and his friend to have a snack. We ate absolutely nothing at the house as it was so dirty. There were cabinets in the lounge and dinging room with a gap under them - there was sooooo much dust and dirt under those cabinets, I don’t think they had seen a vacuum or mop in many a moon! On taking these issues up with Dirk, he advised that I should have told him and he would have come to clean - it would have taken the entire duration of our stay and longer

This hotel operator has purposely engaged in unfair trading practices and unconscionable conduct. They processed our payment until the last date for cancellation and cancelled our booking even though we made multiple attempts to resolve with them directly once we were told of the issue. ( left multiple phone calls and no call response) They had issues with processing the payment but didn’t make an effort to resolve it when we approached them via *********** to ensure that they have the correct credit card details. Errors can happen on their side too but not offering to assist with solutions demonstrate poor customer service. Our credit card details remained the same and we asked them to reprocess the payment immediately but they refused to do so and even refused to offer any solutions. Why? Because they want more money for that same booking that was booked 3 weeks in advance. If the room was sold we understood but no they choose to advertise it as a higher price and told us our booking was cancelled because our credit card was invalid. Before that they told us on the day of cancellation that prices was incorrect . I cannot believe such greedy operator that refused to rectify this matter with their client but only to screw them over as its peak period and prices have already gone up in many places with limited booking. They told *********** they will not reinstate our booking even though the room was still available. Wow if prices were the same they will be jumping to process the payment. Imagine how understanding these company to travellers out there.. do you really want to stay there in the future knowing you be screwed last minute? . How evil can this people be? Does anyone deserve such trea**ent? I DO NOT recommend anyone to book with this company knowing how they treat their customer like CRAP to a point that they even refused to discuss over the phone. Note: Pls don’t bother commenting on my review now when you didn’t made an effort to rectify the issue in any way.

The perfect place for a family holiday. Private jetty for fishing day or night. Paddle boat & kayaking to keep the kids entertained. Owners are super helpful and friendly. Pet welcome ! So even our fur baby love this place!

Lovely area, unfortunately not restful as people in the cottage wait each night until after midnight for visitors to arrive loud talking screaming first night we thought ah well but it continued to happen, obviously owners heard nothing, it says to please be quiet after 10pm in your accommodation 🤔. Then other ppl up every night crash bang getting up their ‘steps’ i guess, dont know why soooo much walking at 3 am each day. Finally got one peaceful night, we accept noise when traveling but these two groups were just inconsiderate. Some areas of accommodation have been updated other parts are very tired. Nice area nice place just needs a few thing updated. Owners are very friendly and helpful

This is a beautiful place to stay in Jervis Bay, stunning sunset on a good day, great Erowal Bay view, practical living, so clean and many more reasons that make us stay here always. We love our stay Best place to do fishing and kayaking

Family holiday to Jervis Bay. We always stay there whenever we head down to Jervis Bay. The accommodation is beautiful an clean by the bay. Even you didn't head down to the beach, you still can enjoy doing activities by the bay.
