TownePlace Suites Findlay

Room was nice (we had a 1 bedroom suite). However, a few issues: 1) I really like a hot shower, but the water was only lukewarm. Not a pleasant experience at 7 a.m.; 2) it needs a thorough cleaning, especially the kitchen; 3) the sleeper sofa was not a pull out sofa— it had removable cushions and only slept one person and was hard as a rock; and 4) the breakfast was very basic— bagels, yogurt, cereal, fruit and hard cooked eggs. And you could make a waffle. Coffee was good, though. We wouldn’t return to this hotel, there are many other options in the Findlay area.

We enjoyed the pool and had a clean spacious room for the night. But the best part is the amazing service we had from the moment we got to the hotel. Whitney was amazing! She went above and beyond and is the reason we will be back! She’s the bomb.com!

The hotel has a weird smell in the hallways. You can’t sit beside the pool and enjoy fresh air because they have tables lined up outside of pool area for the smokers. It’s like sitting in a bar full of smoke. Very disappointing. Can’t enjoy the fresh air outside.

I stay at a lot of Marriott properties and this felt like one of the the oldest I’ve stayed at. The lobby, halls and room seem old and tired and in need of a major refresh. The halls smell of stale food. The breakfast buffet looked underwhelming so we skipped it. Location is close to downtown and industrial Findlay. Not convenient to I-75 for those just passing through.

First of all, Whitney is a wonderful, caring and helpful employee. I called for some assistance in our booking, as I was using points and my wife and daughters were staying without me, so a quick phone call to explain and add my wife's name to the reservation was not only not a problem, but I'd mentioned how they were on a sudden, emergency 800-mile trip to rush down south to take care of my wife's parents. Not only did she show care and compassion, she also helped them into a bigger room--one which I couldn't book using my points. I am a Marriott Titanium member and a Lifetime Platinum--it's nice to see a property go out of their way for elites--something that's not always happening much these days, but this place does sure know how to take care of everyone, it seems. Wife said the room was huge, the beds were comfortable, the location had a lot of decent food options nearby...All three got a great night's sleep and the extra space to run around and burn off some road energy was appreciated. That being said, she told me to be sure to include kudos to Whitney as well, whose awesome attitude, helpfulness and caring attitude carried over to their arrival as well. This was our 2nd stay there in the last month (2nd trip to grandma's, unfortunately)...The first trip was equally great, and Whitney also took good care of all of us a few weeks prior. While this property is nowhere near the half-way point between our original and destination, we're going to continue to go a tad out of our way to stay here again as we pass through next time, and hopefully the time after and the time after that. It has moved to the top of the list between Toledo and Cincinnati or Columbus. Keep up the good work, and to the manager/owner of this property: you have a gem in Whitney, I tell ya!

The good: SUPER CLEAN. Comfy bedding. Kitchenette was nicely stocked. There is a nice set up IN the closet- a mirror, drawers, & shelves along with loads of space to hang things up. Tons of easily-accessible plugs in practical places throughout the room. Whitney was super kind and helpful. The meh: outdoor pool, only 2 towels in the bathroom, shower was kinda small. The terrible: when we got here, they had sold our room!!! we booked, way back in March, a 2 room suite through ***********. We had to change the dates because 3 of my family had covid. The staff worked with us and assured us these new dates were open. I even called last week to confirm. When we arrived today, the desk employee was surprised that we hadn't been called to inform us that our room had been claimed and that the hotel had oversold their available rooms. She gave us 3 options to make it right- we ended up in a smaller room with a queen bed and a pull out couch. We were so looking forward to having a 2 room suite, but got this smaller one instead. i will update/edit this review once we see our bill (we'll see how we're charged).
