Green Island Inn

What a little gem this hotel was for us! We had booked another hotel for our 2 night stay in fort Lauderdale before our cruise, but when we saw the reviews I went hunting for something better. And what a relief finding this place! The location for us was wonderful, just over the road from the beach to watch the sunrise, and only around 20 minutes to the port for our cruise. The hotel felt very secure as there was a door with a passcode on that was locked on a night. It felt very homely walking through to get to our room, not sure if people live there but it felt like a nice cosy place to be. Our room was absolutely immaculate! It was upstairs overlooking the pool, it felt like it had been recently renovated with a nice modern feel to it. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The kitchen area was very clean and had everything we needed. The bathroom was also very nice with a light up mirror and a huge walk in shower! The pool area was nice and clean, very quiet for a weekend! We spent the night sat around the pool with some snacks and drinks, it was a perfect place to relax after travelling from the UK. There was a few shops for breakfast/snacks within walking distance for us. Overall it was a wonderful stay and if we’re ever back in fort lauderdale for a cruise we will definitely be booking again!

Great little place! A beautiful short walk to the beach every morning. Lovely palm trees and plants all around. Nice clean pool with a grill. Very very nice staff! Location and price are excellent! Quiet and safe.

An oasis within a 5 minute walk to the beach, tucked away in a nice neighborhood. A short walk to a convenience store and a great restaurant on the intra-coastal. Just off major thoroughfares, charming hosts, friendly guests, clean pool, little kitchenette, comfy bed! I couldn’t have asked for a better mini-vacation. Agnes, John, Dana were absolutely gracious and helpful.

I loved this place from the first email I got from Green Island Inn. Always so friendly and answered all my questions. I had a late check in and I received a detailed email of where I should go to find my room. Very thankful for that. Also loved that I had a room facing the pool. Just a few steps away from Fort Lauderdale beach and like 20 to 30 mins to the restaurants and grocery stores. Nice room with a good bed. The cleaning staff did also a very good job with keeping the place nice and tidy. I would definitely come back to Green Island Inn.

Having booked this from the UK we had everything crossed upon arrival. Agnes had telephoned us twice in the UK ahead of our visit to ensure she chose the appropriate room for my mobility challenged hubby. (During the conversation I had mentioned that we were to be celebrating my hubby's 70th birthday whilst at the hotel) The hotel is a peaceful oasis in a lovely quiet area and parking was a breeze. Everything had a 'Key West vibe' which we love. We were greeted by John and made to feel extremely welcome and delighted at our choice of home for the next 6 nights. The room was spotless and had everything we needed and to top it all Agnes had decorated our room with Happy Birthday bunting - how special ! We were so impressed with our choice that we are returning in September for 9 nights and of course Agnes has accommodated our particular requests in doing so. We shall be including Fort Lauderdale in all future itineraries from now on. 'People buy people first' certainly applies here. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This is an older smaller sized property. I loved it! This is what I would image hotels being like in Florida years ago. So don't go if you like new and modern. My room was perfect for my needs. It had a kitchenette, with a 2-burner stove, microwave, refrigerator and some cooking supplies. I had plenty of room to store my stuff, two dressers and a table with two chairs. When you walk in the front of the building, there is a garden courtyard with chairs to sit and in front of the rooms there are chairs and small tables. Out the back door of my room was another courtyard area with a pool, chairs and a BBQ for people to use. There was also a washer and dryer, I didn't use those, so I don't know how well they worked. There were also a few chairs that people could use to take to the beach. When you leave the hotel, take a right out the main doors, cross the street and the beach in right there. I enjoyed having my morning coffee, watching the sunrise there. The beach area there has several chairs there for people to use. The property could use a little TLC but I really enjoyed it for my needs. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent rate and a great location across the street from the beach access. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our room was a basic decor and very clean, even smelled clean. The room air conditioner was loud, A little hard to get used to, next time i would bring ear plugs. We look forward to visit again.
