Considering the price of this place, we were both disappointed with the quality of the stay. The bed was pushed up against the wall so both sides of the bed were not accessible unless you climbed over each other. The 'double' room was barely passable as a single. There was penny pinching going on everywhere with this property to the zero sound insulation between the us and the room next door (we could hear them having a pee and we knew that one of the guys in the room next door was called Rich and was having marital difficulties, but had a nice walk out that day). They weren't loud, but they may as well have been in the same room as us! The breakfast was cheap quality items, the coffee in the rooms was in mason jars but was just cheap Tesco value (or equivalent). I recognise cheap instant coffee - it's dreadful. The toilet paper was also the cheapest they could find. Considering the price - the most expensive on the week long trip we did, it was the 2nd worst we stayed in. The view from the garden was great, right on the shore of Loch Linnie, but the weather put pay to us enjoying any time outside at this place. I would only come back here if there was a severe shortage of places to stay in the area.

A lovely property just about 3 miles outside Fort William on the main road. There was parking on site which was great. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Lovely host and great overall. Breakfast was available and the house was right on the water so lovely views.

The rooms are fairly large and nicely decorated. Very quiet too. The owner is very kind. The location is great for Glencoe area. The bonus is the yard! It’s large with lake behind it. We enjoyed the sunset while our son looked at rocks and crabs on the beach.

I had the unique experience of staying in 2 rooms in one stay. The first good point is that he found is rooms after had, for some reason, booked me for 2023 and I hadn't realised (I made a mock booking after and it automatically gave me 2023 so something's wrong there). Anyway, he gave us a room for one night and another room for the other 2. The first room was tiny, just enough room for us and our luggage, it had a beautiful veranda looking off to the mountains and, if it hadn't rained heavily, would have been nice to sit out. However, I thought the bed was awful and had a terrible night's sleep, the pillows were rock hard as was the mattress. The second room we second room we stayed in was bigger as it was a triple room but overlooked the car park. In this room you could hear everything from the room above, the creaking floorboards and the people talking. My night's sleep was quite good, the mattress was much better. The water was brown, but my wife (who's Scottish) told me it's the Highland peat that colours it so, it may not look great, but it's safe. The breakfast was a choice of Scottish breakfast or continental and you had to make your choices of which, tea or coffee, orange juice or apple and what time, this may seem a little narrow of a choice for some and I don't know if they do vegetarian cooked brekkie. I think this was because he ran the place on his own cause I never saw anyone else and only saw him at breakfast. The Scottish breakfast was nice but was served in a dining room that was a tiny conservatory with 3 tables crammed close together and a little claustrophobic. It's close to Fort William but far enough out to capture the beauty of the Highlands. It was a clean place with bottled water and tea making facilities in the room. So, it was a mixed bag. Hope that helps.

Pros - Lovely views of Loche Linnhe - Quick, easy check in - Choice of a full Scottish or continental breakfast (no vegetarian option for full) - Affordable - On site parking available - Room clean and adequately sized Cons - No hand wash available in bathroom - Wifi did not work from details that were provided - Toilet had urine and faecal stains from previous guests - Yellow tap water from bathroom sink - Room is next to a 60mph road so sleep was interrupted from passing cars

My partner and I had a two night stay at the camp field house, the location was good quite near to pubs and shops, we stayed in the yellow room which is very small but clean we had a balcony which was fantastic as it was really hot during our stay and the view was incredible, the drinking water and the bathroom water supplied was yellow , this was very off putting there was only two teabags in the room which I don’t think is good enough for a two night stay, the breakfast was a roll delivered to the room, this was not stated when I made the booking - my partner and I due to work shifts rarely eat breakfast together therefore when we are away it’s something we really appreciate it . The roll was a slice of bacon a fried greasy egg and a square sausage that hardened my arteries just looking at it. The host didn’t make himself available for any information regarding the property location or general information we have received from the many many b and bs we have stayed in, the only thing he told us upon arrival was the breakfast was a roll delivered to the room due to covid restrictions, I was not aware that there was any???? I appreciate vulnerable people keeping themselves safe if b and bs aren’t offering a full breakfast service it should be stated at the time of the booking .

Thoroughly appalling experience here. We have never been made to feel so unwelcome. When we arrived the owner (looking very grubby in dirty unfastened trousers) barked orders at us about Covid (we've no problem with being Covid safe) shoved a thermometer in our faces before we were even through the door, no 'hello' or 'welcome'. He demanded that we did the track & trace app & then got right in my face & virtually took my phone off me to make sure I had. He then demanded payment. We were then informed that breakfast would be a bacon roll left in a paper bag outside our room. We were then trapped behind the front door while he let other guests in (so much for being Covid safe!) Eventually we went up to our room, which had to be the most depressing room in Britian. The photos online show beautiful garden rooms with views over Loch Linnhe, with great reviews, which is what I thought I'd booked. Nope, we had a tiny, grubby, dark, throw back to the 1970's, overlooking the main road into Fort William. It smelled like something had died in there. There was mold round the window, dirty, stained walls & skirting boards. The en suite was a cupboard in the corner. It was truly horrific. So, we left & found somewhere else because, quite honestly, there is no way that room should be let out. I've asked for a refund, but I'm not holding my breath. Truly awful, if i could give it a minus score I would, don't stay here.

What a horrible owner . Upon arrival at this place we was greeted with a grumpy owner stood with his temperature gun in hand . Put ur mask .. now use the sanitizer. Now let me take ur temperature. Not even a hello or welcome was ever used . He then asked for full payment before we even got into the place . Told us breakfast was a bread roll with bacon and egg and orange juice which would be brought to our room . The room was a very small outdated bottom floor dusty thing . A double and single bed with two horrendous mattresses and very small en-suite with the loudest shower ever .horrible net curtains from the 80s . The breakfast was disgusting. Any way we got charged 216 pounds for two nights for this dump . We have left a day early . Please do not be fooled with other nice comments people leave . Don’t let this vile disgusting person take ur hard earned cash

We booked for one night at this place, following a lovely week staying at various other locations. What a sudden drop down to earth. The welcome was non-existent - in fact we were instantly made to feel extremely unwelcome. We waited best part of 10 minutes after ringing the door bell, for the owner to arrive in filthy clothes and with his trousers undone. No hello, no pleasantries etc. Just orders and demands: "sanitize your hands" (we already had), "wear a mask" (we were wearing masks). He then shoved a temperature probe in our faces in a very aggressive manner. We are more than happy to be compliant with covid restrictions, but the manner of this man was simply vile and unacceptable. He then demanded payment, and made us wait behind his front door so that he could allow some other people in that had turned up after us. Breakfast - you get a choice of a roll, that will be left outside your room at either 7 or 8am - other reviewers have suggested that these are not even freshly prepared on the premises; we wouldn't know, because despite having paid, we saw the horrible, dark, smelly, crappy little room that we had been given - right above the busy and noisy main road - and decided to leave and find somewhere else. Avoid at all costs - it is dire. The pictures that we saw on websites when bookings really do not reflect what it is like - otherwise, we would not have booked it!!!
