We booked via telephone following finding hotel online. Very friendly and easy booking. Stayed 3 nights while visiting friends and local area. Hotel very nice, nice big room, clean and well equipped (some more drawers would have been useful), food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay very much and will be back at some point.

Lovely spot for a relaxing night's stay in the Essex countryside. The room in a separate building behind the pub was great - clean, warm and very comfortable with a good shower. The evening meal and breakfast in the pub was delicious and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

A wonderful weekend staying in the coach house at the pheasant, inclusive of breakfast which was absolutely delicious. Beautiful room with a stunning view. The staff were all accommodating and willing to cater to any request, nothing seemed too much or a burden. The owner Diana is a wonderful warm and welcoming lady. We also loved the fact the location is out of the way. A perfect olde English pub with fantastic high quality produce to create a tasty meal. 5* experience for us.

My Husband and I stayed at The Pheasant for 3 nights. We had a lovely stay fabulous suite on the ground floor. All the staff are very welcoming especially Ruben. Diana the owner for a really lovely lady. Thankyou very much we will return soon love Theo and Joanne xx.

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The pub is a wonderful warm and welcoming place run by Diana and her excellent team. The accommodation is next to the pub and is modern, clean and very comfortable. We would have no hesitation is returning again. Excellent.

Wow,what a lovely place.We stayed here and had dinner here everything was first class.Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful views very peaceful quite place. Can not wait to return to this lovely place. Christmas here we come

Found this lovely place online, but then our friends called and spoke to the owner and we booked direct. We wanted a last minute meet up midway from our friends in Norfolk and us in Kent. We stayed in the Constable room ( see images) with lovely views across the fields at the back. We had drinks and dinner ( which was reasonably priced) and then our rate included a lovely cooked breakfast the next day. The room was clean and modern and our friends room was too. It's not a big public house but it's well run and was busy for a Saturday evening. The outside covered seating area was even being used with heaters!. Lovely find. We will definetly return in the summer months. Thank you Diana.

Very friendly and most helpful. Opened the Kitchen an hour early so i could eat and make my business meeting by !9.30, absolutely fantastic. Sue said they would find out if possible and called me not too long after to say 'no problem'. Brilliant service.
