Avis : Gokarna Forest Resort

Nice and spacious room in a quiet and peaceful environment. Location was about 10 mins drive from the Buddha stupa and 20 mins from the airport. Staffs were very polite and helpful, always greet us in a smiling face. Will definitely go back again.

best service but the restaurant was a bit noisy golf course is great

Generally ok but not worth to pay for the price $180 per night . Did not change towels daily and have to use back and difficulty to close and open the doors. The food is fantastically nice but we have avoid to take the fruits as the flies were resting around and on the fruits at fruit preparing, outside of the dining building.

Great escape from the busy city! It’s located in a beautiful forest location and you can watch big groups of deers at the golf course. Rooms, amenities and restaurants are top. Overall a fantastic stay!

Whilst the location and rooms are terrific, the service was absolutely awful. We went to the bar to have some coffee and got no acknowledgment of any sort from any of the waiters for 15 minutes and only after complaining did we get served. Dinner was late by an hour and again only hit served after complaining. Either the staff haven’t been trained to standard or the management is so weak that they can’t see the indifference the staff are showing their guests

Gokarna forest resort - best resort in the valley. Extremely happy to be here. All the staffs are very friendly. Front office very professional - Nima Kapil Shivahari Sunita were very politely guided me through out my visit. Nirumaya was very courteous during my booking. Ms. Purinma from club house was well trained and deserve more. Thank you for everything. Gokarna forest resort.

Lavish and well developed Forest resort such a beautiful location just a few kilometres away from the capital city Kathmandu. Such a huge property with inhouse gulf course and you can see some wild animals around the location if you are lucky.

This resort sits like a quiet oasis only 10 km from the airport. Surrounded by jungle with free roaming monkeys! Good points: 1) staff amazing helpful & friendly special mention to Anisha in the bar area who was a constant ray of sunshine 2) massages truly excellent value for money & Kamala’s 90 minute Himalayan massage was pure bliss ! Good pool for swimming 3) rooms spacious & bathrooms functional 4) very good laundry service 5) meal in Club house excellent & also bar food very good & not expensive. Points to improve 1) swimming pool & spa really need rejuvenation as looking very worn 2) lots of party groups during the stay so prepare for some noise 3) great coffee in the cafe but very poor at breakfast 4) internet was patchy but ok when it did work. Overall a great place to stay on your holiday to Kathmandu! Thanks for your hospitality

Wonderful staff and secluded from the city. The food is fantastic! The rooms are spacious and the bathroom is very nice. The spa services are a great deal for the price. I recommend the jet lag massage! The beds could be softer (which is why I have 4 stars). I was sick during my stay and Pramesh Palikhel took great care of me with his hot ginger honey lemon drink! Thank you!

I had high expectations for Gokarna Forest Resort due to its unique location and reputation, but unfortunately, my experience fell short in several ways. While the natural surroundings are undeniably beautiful — with the forest, greenery, and peaceful atmosphere — the service and overall hospitality did not match the setting. The hotel feels quite old, and the floors in the lobby and on the staircase creaked loudly with every step, which was a bit unsettling. The staff service was underwhelming. I found the front desk to be unresponsive at times, and requests took longer than expected. There seemed to be a lack of coordination and attentiveness, which is disappointing for a resort of this caliber. The room was not well-maintained. Despite the high price, no welcome fruits or cookies were provided, which I had expected as part of the experience. Additionally, the restaurant service and food quality were poor. The dinner buffet menu was very limited, and the chicken and fish dishes lacked flavor. I was also hoping for a better breakfast experience, but again, the menu was quite limited. Overall, I feel the resort relies too heavily on its scenic location and neglects the essentials of good hospitality. It seems they focus more on making money than providing quality service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this resort.

The perfect respite in Kathmandu on the edge of the city is a glorious ancient forest. I chose this special place at the end of my stay in Nepal and it couldn’t have been better for rest, relaxation, restoration and reflection. The breakfast buffet plus is fabulous and the dosa’s are the best I’ve ever had. I received a world class massage at the spa. The favorite time was my 2 hour hike in the woods with Deepak my guide. We came upon a small Durga temple, and a troupe of men brought in their instruments to sing! I enjoyed my 4 night stay very much!

This resort was amazing venue for our bi-annual event that travels around the world. They comfortably provide all that we needed! I felt so much peace and tranquility while there. It was a great escape from the bustling city of Kathmandu, but only a short drive away.
