This is a rather new hotel that was built at the former location of vertinary medicine of the Georg august university. The link to biological sciences is further illustrated by the name of the bar: herbarium bar. The later is rather professionally run as long as the main bar keeper is not busy sharing recipes with his friend. The rooms are well designed and practical but arguably the quality of the design does not hold the highest expectations. The location is excellent but the rooms are quite despite the closeness to the main train station. As many hotels in the post COVID-19 phase, some of the you her staff require further training. In summary still one of the best hotels in the center of goettingen.

The hotel looks newly built in soulless modernist and dreary architect turn on outside day. Quite predictably, the inside is at least as dreary and spiritually dead. The staff (mostly young people) were quite disinterested in providing service. Although the hotel was clean and fresh, it lacks all forms of style and charm. You get a feeling of the old GDR. Dead and desolate. Not many guests at the hotel. Not much staff either. Free breakfast was supposed to be included in the price, but despite that we had to pay for breakfast. Parking space was subject to availability and the staff could not promise a space. The city of Göttingen would be much better off if the hotel was demolished and replaced with something that makes people feel good and comfortable.

Decent hotel located next to the train station in Gottingen. I was working for a week in Hanover so this provided a good base without he inflated Hanover prices. Have to say the staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Daniel. Room was spacious, cosy and warm. Breakfasts were amazing as the staff prepared coffee and various breakfasts, in my case omelettes, upon request. Bar and in-house restaurant bit pricey though but plenty of other eating options available within 10 mins walk of hotel.

We stayed 3 nights and found the whole experience from the welcoming check-in to friendly check-out very enjoyable and relaxing. The room is quiet, spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. The minimalist design is user-friendly with both form and function on point. The bathroom is well designed and the shower good and hot. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the Japanese/Peruvian fusion restaurant Intuu downstairs, great service and flavours. Breakfast was fresh, tasty with an excellent range of hot and cold options. There were lots of happy family groups in over the weekend and and although the buffet was busy, the staff managed the food and service seamlessly. Underground secure parking is easy to navigate and an easy in and out. I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely hotel with a really cozy ambience, comfy beds and very nice decor. I loved the smell of the shower gel and body lotion. The bathroom design was lovely with plenty of space. I’d give the hotel 5 shiny stars.

This place is fantastic. Large, modern rooms. Great breakfast buffet, a swank bar, very good food at the restaurant. Loved staying here, miles better than many of the other stuffy hotels in town. There is even a rooftop bar and a small sauna and fitness Center.

Nice hotel, cosy room. Great view of the area from the fifth floor. Friendly staff, great welcome in the reception, no problems whatsoever. The downsides: Very narrow parking in the basement and the beds are not great. Still a recommended stay.

I had a very unfortunate experience with the hotel. In the evening of 28.07.23 a woman at the reception told me that I couldn't get a room at the hotel, because my friend who accompanied me didn't have a valid ID card (he's a German citizen, whose ID expired and he has an appointment in 2 weeks to receive a new one). I said that I wanted to book a room for myself, my friend was not going to stay with me, I have a valid ID and a credit card. The woman said I couldn't get a room and suggested that I find some other hotel in Göttingen. I felt disrespected and discriminated, which I openly said to the woman, and am saying once again. Nothing of the kind has ever happened to me before. It shouldn't matter anyhow, but I am a wealthy, neat-looking person and I see absolutely no reason why the hotel staff did what they did. Apparently, because I was accompanied by somebody who has made a wrong impression, I was entitled as a persona-non-grata. Anyway, the described situation counts as one of the most humiliating experiences of my life and I will never recommend the hotel to anybody.

The hotel puts on an appearance that it cannot support in depth. Hotel staff is fine, on the average and quite impersonal. The hotel room we had was a superior room. Room was spacious and bright but the walls had seen better days. Full of scrapes and marks of various nature and could sure use a paint job. Bed tables had various rings from glasses or cups. However the single most important part of a hotel room is the bed. Mattresses and pillows is an individual matter of how you prefer your bed but to me it was an absolute disgrace of a mattress and pillows. Low low quality, literally like sleeping in fluffy waves so soft that you’d never be able to lay straight in it. Pillows so uncomfortable too. Breakfast was ok, nothing out of the ordinary but decent. We also tried the restaurant in the evening. We had sushi. The fish pieces were fresh but the combinations were completely unbalanced and flavors overpowering each other, had nothing to do with sophisticated gastronomy. Price vs quality completely out of proportion. Not a disastrous hotel but I didn’t sleep any because of the sad and worn bed mattress and that is really what counts. All in all not satisfied, expected more for the price paid and will not return.
