Casa Palacete 1822

We liked this hotel so much that despite forgetting to review it quickly after our return I still felt I wanted to do that now. The hotel was amazing. We were lucky enough to end up in two different rooms both were nice but the French was our favourite. The staff were all extremely welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was the best we had in Spain including a choice of pastry we were delighted with it. David helped us severally times with great recommendations and booking places for us. This is a unique style of hotel that deserves great success.

The service, friendliness and helpfulness of everyone working here is truly exemplary. Everything from the cleanliness of the suite to the delicious breakfast with delightful home made juices was very inviting and much appreciated. Our crticisms are limited to circumstances beyond the control of the hotel. It is a bit of a challenge to find even with the rental car GPS system. The one way street it is on protects the hotel from the noise and hubbub of Granada at large and creates a narrow environment. Our bedroom and bed were smaller than preferred. But the heart of the hotel is large and caring. If you want to feel at home in a busy, large city, this could well be your place.

Recently stayed on a “France”-themed room for one night. Before checking on the communication with the hotel was great, via WhatssApp. The hotel is easy to access. We took a bus from the train station. Hotel is one street away from the main street and where the bus stop is. Advice, if taking the bus for the first time. It appears that you can buy a bus ticket every other stop. We found that the driver would not always let people buy a ticket on the bus. The cost is 1.40. If looking for a taxi, the taxi stand is one block away. A taxi would easily take you to the hotel. Also, there is a parking garage on the same block as the hotel if driving. Was greeted by David. He was very friendly and welcoming. He also took the time to draw out on a map places we should visit. Very nice touch. I learned this is a family-run hotel. It shows that they place a lot of love in the care. As noted, we stayed in the “France” room. This was a large room with the living area separated from the bedroom by a fireplace. Being summer, we did not try the fireplace. Bathroom had a tub with a handheld wand for washing (pointing out for those not used to this). Room had a fridge, tv, etc. all amenities needed were in the room. The exception being a safe. A note in the room indicates the hotel will store your valuables. The air conditioning worked great, which was needed during the heat wave. Bed, etc we’re comfortable, bed was firm. There is an older style elevator. Use this when with your bags. Otherwise, take the beautiful stair case. It really is a neat place. We did not eat on property so cannot rate that experience. We were taking a tour of Alhambra in n check out and we’re able to store our bags with the hotel. One thing I would not is that staff take a break in the afternoon. I believe the break is 13:00-15:30.

Beautifully presented palacete and perfectly situated in the centre of Granada. The rooms are really lovely and the staff could not be more helpful. Very comfortable. A fantastic place to enjoy the buzzy atmosphere of this lovely city.

We had a wonderful stay in Casa Palecete. We were last minute guests, but David from the reception received us as we were clients for years!! He was also very helpful in finding the best room for our family of 5. The room was very lovely, clean and had a nice bathroom. David gave us also good restaurant tips nearby. My adult son and I just returned from a week's holiday in southern Spain, during which we stayed at this lovely accommodation. We have only good things to say about it. The staff emailed promptly when we booked our rooms, responded via email to every question, and generally gave us a very warm and hospitable welcome. Amparo greeted us at the door, helped my son move our luggage indoors, then went with me to the underground private carpark. I was especially frazzled, as I'd driven from Cordoba that morning, and was now on single-track cobbled roads in one of the old sections of town, but Amparo made me feel at ease and reassured me as I parked the car. As we checked in, I noticed the reception/sitting area looked cosy and comfortable. The staircase to the rooms is sweeping and grand, but the owner has also installed a wonderful little elevator - perfect for those whose knees protest too much after a long day's walk. Amparo even made us a mid-afternoon coffee and got a croissant - very welcome after a missed lunch (and directly before our hammam experience!). Amparo, David, and Fatima were uniformly excellent: warm, welcoming, informative, and helpful. Despite our late request, they managed to book us a private tour of the Alhambra and Generalife with an excellent guide (Santiago) - one of the many highlights of our short stay in Granada. Monica in the cafe at breakfast was superb - I'm not great with Spanish, but she was very patient with me. Breakfast was excellent also - neither of us could get one of all that was offered, the offerings were so plentiful. The croissants are enormous!! The tomato spread and olive oil were excellent on the toast, and of course, the hams and cheeses were divine. As were the fresh-made juices, coffee, and teas we tried. Another component of breakfast was a sweet bread or pastry, but neither of us could make it to that part, the earlier portions were so monumental! The accommodations were absolutely delightful. It's clear the owner who purchased the building and turned it into this fantastic 6-room hotel put her heart and soul into the design and decoration of all the rooms and public areas. I stayed in the Italian room while my son stayed in the Chinese room. Both were gorgeous representations of those cultures. The Italian room has a balconette, sofa and chair, ornamental fireplace, desk/workspace, washer, kettle, and mini-refrigerator in the sitting area, A bidet accompanies the toilet in the bathroom, and the bath is indeed a bath and shower combination - delightful for a soak when you've tired yourself out walking all over this charming town!! The bathrobe was comfortable, as was the bed. Ample closet and drawer space is provided in the bedroom. The Chinese room is smaller but also has comfortable bedding, clothing storage space (hanging), a bidet on the toilet, a kettle, an ornamental fireplace, as well as a shower.
