Mt. Plaisir Estate Hotel

A charming, beautifully upgraded hotel with very helpful, pleasant staff. This hotel has great access to viewing the leatherback turtles laying eggs and their nesting site and of course, delicious dining options. The beach is breathtaking. Will definitely return!

The stay at the hotel was great. You must take into consideration the length of drive depending on your location; however, it is well worth it. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Great ocean view from the balcony of room. Food was amazing, good choice if you want to experience locally cultured menus. Service was refreshing, all staff was friendly and helpful, special mention to Leah and Candice who we dealt with most of the time. Some items to consider. The pool is nice but small, therefore can be a game changer if you require a larger pool for swimming or prefer personal space. The prices for drinks were a bit on the higher side, however meals come with a complementary drink. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Beautifully upgraded property, pleasant staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Perfect for a quick get away for locals. The highlight is getting the opportunity to see the massive leatherback turtles come ashore at night to lay their eggs, this is a seasonal event!

Newly refurbished and opened, this is a great place and a must to see the Turtles and birds not seen by us elsewhere in Trinidad or Tobago (Including Pawi). Great guides from the hotels for the birds and the turtles coming ashore at night. Staff were fabulous, rooms very clean and air-conditioned. Full board with good food and drinks. The hotel is almost on the beach which is clean and safe. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough, it was quite a journey from Asa Wright and the airport but well worth the drive.

Most amazing leatherback turtle watching experience. The stay started at the check in desk where we were greeted by pleasant efficient staff offering us cold face towels to refresh ourselves after the car ride to the hotel. The accommodations were first class and the ocean view was breathtaking. As it was early in the season we were only able to see 3 turtles come up on the beach to lay their eggs. We were led by a knowledgeable guide to witness the giant leatherback laying her eggs. An experience everyone should have at least once in their lifetime. The rooms, staff, dining and ambiance were all commendable. Our only regret was that we should have stayed in those beautiful surroundings for more than one night. Would highly recommend Mon Plaisir.

I spent two days here as part of a wildlife trip to Trinidad. The service and welcome from the staff made me feel at home straight away. The room was excellent with full facilities and air conditioning or fan inside. towels & shower gels supplied and outside seating to look at the view of the bay. The only thing with the outside seating was you were sitting at an angle out to sea this is no reflection at all on the service & cleanliness of the place. If you went at the right time of year if you wished to be woken early during the night { 3 AM ish } to see Leatherback Turtles making the holes for them to lay their eggs and watching them do it was a great experience as I am a lover of nature and interested in whatever happens. The food is good and plentiful. I certainly would stay here again.

This hotel was clean, comfortable and safe. The design makes you feel right at home in the Caribbean. Located on the beach the soothing sounds of the ocean make you feel at peace. The turtle watching office is a 1 minute walk from the hotel so it is easy to get tours to see turtles during the nesting season. In the height of the season I am sure you can see turtles nesting from your room. We unfortunately did not see any large nesting turtles, but arrived just in time to see the baby turtles being released into the water (thanks to the owner). The breakfast and dinner was absolutely exquisite. You have options for a continental breakfast or delicious local cuisine. The staff were friendly too! We loved our stay and would defiantly stay there again!
