Waxiwu Homestay (Shamian Yong Qing Fang)

The accommodation js located inside a neighbourhood and is very convenient as you have food, convenient stores, baker right next to you. Very nice view facing a big river and what a lovely cozy accommodation for families/groups of friends ! Definitely recommended!!

We had a 2 room, 3 beds, does feel a bit crowded for 4 adults in the lounge but no big deal. One of the room with 2 beds has very low ceiling towards the back, so be warn as you cannot stand upright in that space. (typical with some of the loft designs). We look at glass half full so it didn't bother us, just be careful with your head. The sofa was very comfortable as a 4th bed. Disposal bath towels and face towels are provided if you are ok with them. We booked for 5 nights and house keeping/cleaning are not provided, maybe we need to request and pay but we never enquire. It's within walking distance to a metro so that's very convenient and maybe 10 minutes walk to Yong Qing Fang, one of the main tourist spots with lots of eateries etc. Shamian Island is also within 10/15 minutes walk. (caveat: take my estimate walking time with a pinch of salt as we are 4 brothers on holidays, the youngest is in his mid 50's and 3 of us are over 60's paying very little attention to the time) Overall the place is value for money, as a duplex let us gather in the lounge for morning coffee and night caps. Some convenient stores downstairs so no worries with fruits, snacks or water and a restaurant next door with pretty decent food. Make sure you get the address spot on for Didi as I think it's quite a large housing community and you may end up in the far end gate/entrance, which was what happened to us when we first went there.

The apartment was very clean. It would have been nice to have some coffee or tea available and real towels for the shower as opposed to disposable.
