The Drummond at Albury

Absolutely delicious breakfasts and excellent flat whites (love good coffee) eaten beside the river in the spring sunshine. Highly recommend the vegetarian full English. Completely clean plates, everything delicious. Attentive, friendly and prompt service. Thank-you, we’ll be back soon.

We stayed for one night. The room (5) we had was good but in truth nothing special. It was quiet, away from both the road and the pub. What made the stay was the Drummond team who were wonderful, a very good breakfast and last but not least the wonderful location. We will stay again if we are in the area.

Very poor quality food late afternoon on a Sunday. Food was luke warm, pastry soggy, yorkshires soggy, roast potatoes poor. Poor flavour. The service was slow and mediocre. Lack of choice on the menu.

This is a way above average country pub, with lovely modern decor, friendly staff, comfy rooms and commendable policies on food (local/British) and no-plastic. It is an ideal place to stay if going to Grange Park Opera (in fact the best of 5 places we have tried).

Stayed a night but had lunch dinner and breakfast during our stay. The food was all excellent and well presented with good service. Really friendly and professional service. The Drummond refurbishment is very evident and the room we had was comfortable and immaculate. The expectations set by the website were fully met.

I actually didn’t get to stay at the hotel after a mix up of dates with the booking via *********** and a no cancellation fee after a few phone calls and emails the hotel kindly refunded the booking. Thank you for the great customer service.

Really lovely room and food was excellent. The staff were so nice and nothing was too much trouble. All of the staff were very friendly but still professional. Will definitely be returning. The location was excellent and easy to get to.

My wife and I have just left the Drummond in Albury and felt we had to share our fantastic experience - the whole team that works there deserves high praise indeed and we will definitely return! The Stay: Our bedroom was fantastic, spotlessly clean and modern yet with enough “old world” touches to give it charm and individuality. Fantastic beds, crisp linen - we slept very well. The Food: Just amazing. I have not had a better steak diane (fillet) and full English breakfast than the ones served here; they use a very high quality specialist butchers (Jimmy Butler’s Blythburgh Farm) to source their meats. My wife was delighted with her crisp tasty chicken schnitzel and smashed avocado for breakfast - the chefs . The service: charming, friendly and attentive (without being overbearing!), the people that work here genuinely seem to care about doing a good job for you and making sure you are happy. Summary. Overall an top tier boutique hotel/ pub dining experience delivered with charm and enthusiasm throughout by a hard working staff. Fantastic value for money. Thank you Team Drummond for making our “day off from parenting” so special. We left feeling spoiled, well fed and can wholeheartedly recommend a stay, meal (or both!) with you.

After staying in several hotels in and around Guildford whilst temporarily working in the area I can say this is by far the best hotel around. The bar/restaurant area is full of character and really welcoming. The staff make you feel at home as if you are sitting in your local so you never feel alone. The food is great and there's usually nice specials on the menu! There is a great selection of drinks behind the bar and I found the prices very reasonable. Every room I have stayed in here is slightly different and full of charm. The beds are comfortable and there is a real sense of attention to detail. You also enjoy the peace of the village setting which is great after a day at work. I could not rate this place higher and will continue to stay here whilst working in Guildford!
