Kluane Park Inn

Don't stay here. This is a total dump. The room was filthy and tiny. The toilets were disgusting. There was hair and dirt on the floors and paint chips and dirt in the shower. The TV didn't work, and there was a layer of dust on the shelves and sills. The sheet sin the bed were dirty. I had to sleep on top of the bed with my own comforter that I had with me (I was driving through to Alaska). Cars and trucks were left idling outside the room for hours with diesel fumes coming into the room. I heard something moving around in the ceiling. I tried multiple times to contact the hotel manager about this before writing this review with no response. I can't understand why a business would operate this way. Why would you put a guest in a filthy room? Why would you not return calls to the guest? I'm appalled by the very poor service and the totally disgusting room. Note that I arrived late after driving for 8 hours and had no other alternative that night. I recommend that you avoid this business at all costs.

The restaurant at the Kluane Park Inn doesn't always satisfy, but this time it certainly did. Sure the building is old, I took my egg foo young to go. It took a little long, but it arrived in the takeaway container piping hot all made from fresh vegetables. While I waited for the two cooks to prepare my meal I was entertained by the high strung attitude from him and the complete calm from her. It was nice to hear and watch all the actual food chopping, the care taken for the meal. The till lady wasn't there, so he handed me my meal with a smile and a sorry for the wait. It was delicious.

This place may be the most unprofessional place you could choose. Most of the amenities they promise on their *********** site (eg airconditioning, pay by view TV etc) are not provided. Management admit that they know this but do not alter their ad to honestly reflect their modest offering. Booked a room with 2 beds and given a room with one bed (it was very musty and there were stains on walls and skirting boards). The room we booked was unavailable (we were told after the fact). We were then given room one with 3 beds. It appeared to be in a better state than the first room we were given. However we were really annoyed with the whole situation and demanded a refund - which was eventually forthcoming. This place is not as advertised. It is definitely NOT air conditioned. You may not get the room you pay for. It is overpriced for what you will be given. Best to avoid if you have other options.

Restaurant: Pay attention to the signs. Dirty dishes left on the outside patio. Rotting wood on deck to entrance. Windows that have not been cleaned in a long long time. Food served hot but meat dry in both orders, didn’t seem fresh. Had to interrupt staff member’s socializing to pay. You decide if you want to eat here.
