Ми були вдвох з подругою ,Готель прекрасний в тихому районі,до метро десь метрів 700,звідти можна добратись куди завгодно це гілка U2 Номер чистий ,постіль чиста та зручна ,на прохання принести праску ,зробили це швидко,Дякую Готелю Engel,за гостиність

The first thing that stood out to me was the very friendly reception staff. They were on the ball with giving us the HamburgCard and were very accommodating when we asked for a different room for a guest with a wheelchair. I noticed a common 'theme' of spiderwebs in the main areas. The furniture in the hotel is also a bit older. The rooms themselves were clean though and the beds and pillows quite comfortable. This hotel consists of three houses joined together. Depending which route you choose to get to breakfast, it is a bit awkward with COVID at the moment, having to touch so many doorhandles since the doors don't open automatically. There were plenty to choose from for breakfast, the coffee however wasn't that great. We also visited the restaurant one night and the food was delicious. Overall, if you are sightseeing Hamburg, I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for the price. You can reach the subway within 15minutes. If you are here by car the hotel is also great as it has free parking and you can reach downtown Hamburg within 20-30 minutes.

A bit of a mixed bag - the hotel is very well located in a beautiful suburb. Very little traffic and beautiful running just half a mile away. The U2 is a direct ten minute walk and straight into the city centre from there. We didn’t eat dinner or breakfast at the hotel so can’t comment on food. We did have an issue with noise, we stayed on the ground floor next to one of the function rooms and on the Saturday night there was a big party which we couldn’t drown out even with both doors to the room closed. It went on very late into the night, even a warning about this would have been appreciated as it kept us up. Our room also picked up plumbing noise and whenever a toilet was flushed we could hear it in our room. We could also hear breakfast being set up from five in the morning. All in all we struggled to get a good nights sleep on any of the three nights so wouldn’t return to this hotel. We may have just been unlucky with the room.

Das Komfortzimmer war an sich ganz schön, da kann man nicht meckern. Bett und Bettwäsche waren ebenfalls gut. Im Badezimmer fehlt dringend eine Ablage für Kosmetika oder ein Beautycase. Die Lage des Hotels muss man wollen, wir besuchten eine Freundin in derselben Straße, von daher passte es. Preis/Leistung und Freundlichkeit sind gut. Es gibt aber ein paar Punkte, die nicht gehen: Das Haus ist verwinkelt mit vielen Treppen und Stufen, nicht alle sind gut beleuchtet. Wer einen schweren Koffer trägt oder etwas unsicher geht, hat es nicht einfach. Morgens stand zweimal (!!) die Mitarbeiterin vom Housekeeping bei uns im Zimmer. Ein kurzes Klopfen und Rufen und schon war die Tür auf. Zufällig waren wir schon angezogen. Da muss es doch eine Liste geben, auf der steht, welche Gäste heute auschecken und ebenfalls, ob diese schon ausgescheckt haben. Vielleicht fehlt hier eine Hausdame, die das organisiert, jedenfalls empfand ich das als Zumutung - inzwischen habe ich gesehen, dass genau dieser Punkt auch schon in früheren Rezensionen bemängelt wurde, offenbar gibt es das Problem also schon länger, es kümmert sich nur keiner darum, es abzuschaffen. Beim sehr egalen und höchstens mittelmäßigen Frühstück nahm ein Mitarbeiter mit der Hand etwas vom Buffet und steckte es sich in den Mund. Vielleicht fehlt auch hier jemand, der den Überblick hat und das Personal anleitet? Insgesamt war die eine Übernachtung okay, ich halte die ausgewiesenen vier Sterne aber für sehr optimistisch.

Das Hotel wirkt von außen wuchtig und klotzig, von innen wie aus der Zeit gefallen. Dem Augenschein nach ist seit den 90er Jahren wenig investiert worden. Eine durchgreifende Renovierung täte dem Haus gut. Das Foyer wirkt düster. Die Möbel auf den Zimmern verströmen schon den typischen Duft von Altholz. Frühstück war o.k. Einen (ziemlich eng zugeschnittenen) Parkplatz findet man rund ums aus Haus.

Hotel in der Nähe des Hamburger Flughafens. Den Fluglärm kann man leider hören. Das Hotel ist leider nicht gut mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln erreichbar, der nächste Bus oder U-Bahn sind 10 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Es gibt ausreichend Parkplätze. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber, das Frühstück gut, die Mitarbeiter freundlich. Auch gibt es dort ein Restaurant mit gutem Abendessen. Das Design stammt aus den achtziger oder neunziger Jahren, alles funktioniert problemlos. Ich übernachte hier immer wieder gerne. Günstig und eine gute Alternative zu den teuren Hotels in der Innenstadt.

Das Hotel hat einen sehr eigenen Charme. Ist sehr verwinkelt und doch sichtlich in die Jahre gekommen. Könnte wirklich mal ein Face Lifting in allen belangen vertragen. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Leider verfügen die Zimmer über keine Lüftung und man muss die Fenster geöffnet haben. Das Problem sind die Flugzeuge und die Raucher im Innenhof - die Geräusche sind leider sehr hoch. Frühstück ist ok. Das angrenzende Restaurant ist gut. Und das Personal auch sehr nett.
