We absolutely loved this hotel! Could not recommend it enough! It is right next to the train station and a short walk over the bridge to the city centre!
The renovation of this building is amazing and the whole interior is stunning and of great quality. It is the perfect mix of old and new!
Arrive at breakfast before 9am to avoid the rush :)

Assigned a room in another building, which is a bit far away from the main lobby….the main building is beautiful :(
Hotel offers mulled wine at the lobby!
Our room looks old, many things broken

Great location, hotel was adequately clean and amenities were good. Staff were helpful. Only a stones throw from the city centre and all of the attractions. I would definitely stay again. There was entertainment in the grounds which was v enjoyable.

Hotel looks lovely in the pictures so do the rooms. Unfortunately what they don’t tell you is that’s not where your staying. Your staying in the old antic section of the hotel. Not so good, as it’s run down, quite a bit away and way over priced for what you get. A premier inn is more reasonably priced as you know what you get. Food average. Cleanliness again average. Facilities average. Car parking pricey although at least warned on the web site. Staff are nice. That said didn’t make it worth a premium price tag.
Would I book again? Not a chance. Description of the room deceiving and way over priced.

Hotel itself is stunning especially in the bar and restaurant areas. Room was mostly clean bar a couple of cobwebs on the ceiling in the corners. Floor was a bit creaky but given the age of the hotel understandable. It does get very hot in there but there was a good Dyson air con which cooled us down. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Only major criticism I have is the car park. It is tiny and the fact you pay 15 pounds per night as a guest to park there is for me a bit of a rip off considering how much you'd have paid for the room. We discovered it was actually cheaper to park on the rail car park next door (albeit probably not as secure). Parking at a hotel for me should be free as standard.

Absolutely beautiful hotel!!! Superb location. Super comfy bed. Great breakfast - and being vegan they made me an individual plated full cooked breakfast which has to have been the nicest vegan full English I've had to date.
If I had to say anything negative it would be that room service choice late at night was very poor - and very expensive- only soup or a ham and cheese toast . My partner and I had been to a concert and had missed supper so needed something when we arrived back. Also it would be great to have free parking - it's currently £15 er day, and more spaces available as we had the last empty space when we arrived. Having said that we were only charged the £15 even though we arrived Saturday and left Sunday evening.
Overall though just superb
