Marriott Vacation Club at Los Suenos

I stayed 3 nights ina 2BR villa in August (should have been 4 but a delayed flight caused me to miss my connection.) It was rainy season but only rained towards the evening for 2 days. I stayed near the rainforest and it rained a lot more there. The villa was beautiful and had everything you needed. There are a few restaurants on site. I ordered Uber Eats delivery from Coco's and it was very good. The hotel staff rescheduled Soda Gabarito when I asked for local food recommendations and that was also very good. In general, food and souvenirs seemed better and cheaper here than near Manuel Antonio. The vacation club pool is fine, but the neighbor hotel pool is even better. It almost has the size of a small lazy river without the current. I went on the free Eco tour offered by the golf course. We saw a sloth, many iguanas and some toucans. I was hoping to see monkeys but they don't come out when it's too hot. There's no ATM at the hotel, but there are a few banks at the marina village that's about a 10 minute walk from the property. You don't really need cash though as credit card is widely accepted. We are already planning a return trip next year and looking to stay a full week. We may explore the national parks near the resort.

We loved this MVC resort. Staff was great. Rooms were very clean and spacious (we were in a 2 BR). Full size washer and dryer was amazing to have. Pool complex is wonderful with lots of seating. They did do some entertainment at the pool when we were there. Easy walk to the Village for restaurants. Beach isn't great there (I knew that ahead of time) so don't book it if you are wanting a beach resort! Would absolutely return for another visit.

A lovely vacation club within the Marriott resort. A beautiful setting with lots of interesting wildlife and only a short walk to the local marina with shops and restaurants. Staff at the resort were helpful. Just a few ******* about the vacation club firstly no late check out which has never been the case elsewhere and secondly the whole block was without water for a number of hours and we had to report it. Reception were aware but had not thought to notify occupants and offer bottled water. Otherwise a lovely holiday in beautiful Costa Rica.

The rooms were spacious with a kitchen and were well furnished. The staff are friendly. One of the best pools that I have been to. The bar in the middle of the pool with seating is awesome! There are several vegetarian options at the bar. The food is excellent. The food price is reasonable compared to our experience elsewhere at Costa Rica.

What a nice Vacation Club this is! Right now there are not many Vacation Club rooms, but more are being planned. We had a lovely two bedroom unit. The attached Marriott hotel has a lot of nice dining options and a bigger pool than the quiet, relaxing Vacation Club pool. The staff were great! The beach is okay for a walk, but you probably won’t want to lay on it, but there are plenty of lounge chairs around the pool. The spa at the hotel was very nice. All-in-all a very nice week.

A hidden gem. The best Marriott property in Central and North America. Definitely a lovers and golf paradise. The property is absolutely beautiful, and the customer service is impeccable! I'm already booking my next vacation here!!

This resort is stunning. We stayed in a 2 bedroom room with our four kids ages 8-16. We were thrilled to be able to trade in and stayed for 12 days. We did not have a car which we typically do but we arranged tours/ experiences ahead of time with a local travel agent- Costa Rica Travelling Tours by Amanda. There was a transportation and tour arrangement desk at the hotel and we used the transportation desk multiple times for trips into Jaco. We found their prices reasonable and their staff very friendly. There is a decent sized grocery store a short distance away with local and some American choices. We made use of the washer and dryer nearly daily. Such a convenience to have. We cooked in the room numerous times but did try the breakfast buffet (I think my girls nearly ate their weight in fresh mango), and the pool bar a couple of times for lunch. The pool bar Zoe also had 2 for 1drink specials all day with a member privilege card ( for being owners I think?) All the food was delicious! We took advantage of the golf course tour where we saw a sloth and macaws. We also saw toucans and macaws frequently in the trees near our room. We took advantage of the use of boogie boards and kayaks and paddle boards at the area near the kids club. Although it is not a white sand beach and a bit pebbly, we wore water shoes and the girls had great days when we weren’t exploring the area. The pool is great. Good depth for my age of kids. There was a kids pool area as well. The pool by the vacation club is a little more quiet but we all enjoyed that area and it is shaded by maybe early to mid afternoon which was a welcome break from the sun some days. Finally, all of the staff we encountered were welcoming and friendly and patient as I practiced my rough Spanish. I especially want to mention the housekeeping staff. They cleaned our rooms 3 times I think while we were here. This was not a basic tidy job. They mopped our floor and even emptied our dishwasher/ washed the dishes I hadn’t yet gotten to. They are fast but you may be lucky enough to run them down and give them a tip. Certainly made this mom’s job easier. Thank you Ivania and Irina! You are so appreciated. Don’t fear the rainy season! For us it was perfect. Rained many late afternoon/ evenings but we were already in from the day. Pura Vida!

Resort pretty, nice facilities, a washer/dryer in unit all pluses. Staff kind, like all Costa Ricans we encountered throughout various parts of the country. The beach was ok- not as pretty as those in other parts of country. Vacation club room nice but does not allow for rollaway bed. When we asked for rollaway bed we were told “they’re not allowed in vacation club but in hotel rooms only” so our youngest son slept on a bench in the room. We were in a 1 bedroom. There is no extended check out- you are out at 10 am, which cut our last day on beach in Costa Rica short. An error on our hotel bill took 30 minutes to correct while they sifted through charges from night before. The only reason l knew about the $200 erroneous charge was due to an alert from my credit card regarding international transactions. We did the “vacation club ownership meeting” because we were curious about it. It was supposed to be only 90 minutes but turned into 2.5 hours. The Costa Rican sales person was knowledgeable and polite, but the American sales director was argumentative and impolite, which completely turned us off. It was a waste of our time and not worth the $300 in food vouchers. If you are not a vacation club member and don’t require a kitchen, you’re better off staying on hotel side, especially as a Bonvoy member. This was the most disappointing stay at all of our hotels in Costa Rica. We are Marriott Bonvoy members and are loyal to the brand but this experience was average, at best. In no way does this experience reflect the Pura Vida of Costa Rica.

Such a beautiful place. We have been to several Marriott Vacation Clubs, and I would say this is one of the best. Pool is large and beautiful. Happy Hour, Kids Club, and Wonderful Service. Food was excellent. We went on several excursions. They were all good, however if you love whitewater rafting - do that one. The trip to Tortuga Island was wonderful as well. We went to Carara National Park. It was good - we saw several monkey plus other stuff as well - no Sloths. If you want to see mammals - go to Manuel Antonio. A big thanks to the concierge (Swiss Travel at the hotel) Diego. He was great in arranging our trips. If you want a good dinner - go to Cocos on the beach. Ask for a table on the beach - it is gorgeous.
