Nothing to do in Honiara. Overpriced. I wish the country would clean up and do a better job at using its wonderful natural resources. Like this, no one really wanna go there

I was a bit hesitant to book this place after reading some of the horrific reviews, so I was pleasantly surprised overall with my stay. Yes, there are multiple issues, but if you have realistic expectations going in, these are easily dealt with. The seaview rooms have million dollar views of Honiara and Iron Bottom Sound with several other islands visible on the horizon, so I would recommend booking one of those. Yes, there are bugs. This is the tropics, so really can't be avoided. Hardly the hotel's fault. Didn't have any mosquitoes but the occasional roach was able to squeeze in under the gap between my balcony door and the floor. Easily fixed by putting a towel on the floor there, but I didn't bother. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They can change money here if you need some (but you'll get a better rate at one of the ******s in town). If you give them at least 1 day's notice, they can arrange a car and driver for you if you want a guided tour of the island. Adequate restaurant and bar on the property. A/C worked just fine, which was a godsend given how hot & humid the Solomons are. Wi-fi. This is an issue that received constant criticism in past reviews, so let me set the record straight. Good, strong, fast reliable wi-fi is available everywhere on the property, including the rooms. The confusion comes from what's free and what isn't. There is free wi-fi that is only accessible from the reception area. It's slow and often craps out. It works, but it's far from ideal. But saying the wi-fi sucks or isn't available in the rooms is flat out wrong. There is a very fast paid wi-fi option that is accessible everywhere, including even the highest and most remote rooms on the property (strong signals everywhere because the telecoms building & cell towers are literally across the street kitty corner from the hotel). I downloaded several GB worth of movies and TV shows for some upcoming long plane rides very quickly and with no issues. Connection was stable for my entire 3-day stay. Paid wi-fi rates are quite reasonable, and you pay less per day the longer you stay. A one day wi-fi pass is 55 SBD / 6.50 USD. A three day pass is 135 SBD / 5.00 USD a day. Cablecar. Here is another common complaint from reviews that are misleading. The hotel is built into a steep hillside with the lobby and reception area at street level and the rooms on several tiers above the lobby along the cliff. There is a quaint cablecar that goes up and down the hill on a metal track so you don't have to climb the steep steps if you don't want to. Lots of people complain that the cable car doesn't work. It does, but it takes some effort and attention to figure out how to get it to run properly. Ideally the hotel should make things easier to understand so they bear some of the blame for the complaints. But the fact is that it works just fine if you know what to do, when to wait, when to push buttons, etc. Several times I saw oth

Where do I start? - No wifi in the rooms - my phone was broken so when I was ill with the flu I couldn't contact the staff for room service - I got locked out on my balcony when I shut to door not to let mozzies in. Thank goodness I had my mobile to call for help - THE NIGHTCLUB........ what the actual..... seriously, every Friday and Saturday night full volume till 2am. The absolute worst - Rats. Waiting for the inclinator to head up to my room, I had to ask the staff three times to remove the dead rat. This is on top of regularly seeing rats on the roof from my balcony - no running water in the evenings. I would never recommend staying here for long term..... actually I wouldn't recommend at all. lIf you acn stay somewhere else - DO IT.

This place is genuinely really good. I booked it because one it was super cheap, perhaps cheapest in Honiara and second it was in a central location. A supermarket, telekom and restaurants are all within walking distance. The staff were super helpful especially the ladies who checked me in, Turkena and her colleague. They helped me with my sim card. I had misplaced my keys and my dates of stay had changed and they were super empathetic about it all and helped me out. I'd easily stay here, I mean come on 90 bucks a night in a central location is a bargain!

Hotel rooms are very tired and bare. Poor lighting and weak air conditioning. Room was spacious, though. Bathroom is a bad joke. Water pressure is so low that there is hardly any water from the shower (maybe it is because I was at the top level). To compensate that, you can't squeeze the handles tight enough to prevent water dripping constantly. Faucet is not attached to the sink and tends to move. In the positive side the communal areas, the lobby and garden around funicular, look nice. Food was quite good in the restaurant but they close quite early. I saw several rats running in the restaurant heading to the kitchen. Maybe one of them contributed to the picant flavor in my pizza? There is a small bar, which is frequented by locals so it can't be that bad. People at the reception are helpful and help to buy and activate a local aim card. You will need it as wifi works only in the lobby.

Big room with fridge, old school, not new but was really fine. There are newer hotels for three times the price and much smaller and musty rooms, so all up this is the best value in town. The bar was fun and friendly and the pizzas were big and tasty.

The good things are the room servicing, the pool, cleanliness, the pizzas. We had good response to some maintenance issues but others were not so easily fixed (dripping shower, sticking toilet flush, no hot water, gas stove not functioning, rats coming in under the door (they fixed that with a metal *****). But when you get critical about staff it may pay to note they get paid less than $2AUD an hour. So leave a good tip. They have 2 bedroom units that are not available online,

The pizza is really great !Thin crust ,perfectly done and comes with a wide selection to choose from. The ambience is great and the service is excellent. The hotel has a picturesque entrance/lobby decorated tastefully. A great location to take photos after a pizzafest with friends.

This is hospitality at its worst, we had stayed there fir 2 weeks. Unbelievable as their human resource Manager named Florence she speaks with absolute rudeness. We booked to have noisy sessions nothing big but this lady Manger we don't prefer to deal with. Lift not working at times and guests have to walk up, food compared to Heritage Park, Mendana is pathetic their beef stir fry looks meats not worth it. Hotel Manger she claim to off water to rooms at 1am. So if you planning to have an upset stomach from unhealthy food. No water in toilets will give a stinking smell. Pathetic rotten meals un hygienic. Room service will only give you towel if you ask for as rooms come with 1 towel only. Maybe management have financial issues that's why no morden facilities or amenities. They give preference to their long term stayers only and disregard new guests. Simple thing not a place to be with their general manager acting like a director. Even the directors so rude won't speak Kenny family. They have some good staffs and good location otherwise it's unbearable.

Good value, any other hotel in Honiara is more than twice the price. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is well situated in the middle of town. Meals in the restaurant were excellent however hygiene is questionable. Unfortunately the hotel is rundown, in my room the ceiling fan rattles, the curtains are month eaten, the toilet doesn't flush properly, the TV has only two channels with the very poor reception. Friday night is disco night with loud live music from 8 p.m. till 2 a.m. don't expect to get any sleep!

This is absolutely the best hotel in Honiara! The staff is amazing and will help you with anything and everything you need. They are friendly, accommodating, and will get to know you personally (if you want that). The restaurant is good and the funicular is fun and creative. Great place to stay when visiting the Solomon Islands!

Absolute shambles. No WiFi in the rooms despite advertising otherwise and staff nonchalant about everything. Rooms resembled something you see in a youth hostel and not a 4* hotel. Dirty and crawling with bugs. Avoid!!

Came here for a month long business trip. I checked their website out and was excited by the prospect of the hotel. It looks great on the website. Unfortunately that's where it stops. The only upsides of the rooms are that they are spacious and have quite a nice view over the city and water. Downsides: Incredibly run down - rotting door framing, leaking water, broken toilets, old and uncomfortable matresses Expensive: Upwards of $200 NZD per night Wifi: No Wi-Fi in rooms. Patchy wifi that works about half the time in the lobby. There is nothing included in the cost that you might expect from a hotel of this price - no complimentary water (can't drink the tap water), breakfast is $50 SGD for some toast and peanut butter with sachet coffee The staff are friendly and doing their best to make up for the run down and tired facilities, but I wouldn't stay here again. They trade on a captive audience with very few options. The price is obscene for what you actually get.
