Hualien Wow Hostel is a 2-minute walk from Hualien Railway Station. Founded in July 2015, Hualien Wow Hostel, formerly known as Green Leaf Hotel, is a hostel that rebuilds the main building of an old hotel into a fresh, lively and themed youth hostel, bringing the characteristics of Taiwan's natural environment and the enthusiasm of local culture to backpackers from all over the world. Let them know the beauty of Taiwan, and then introduce more people to see and experience Taiwan. And "people" is the most beautiful scenery in Taiwan. Hualian Whirl Youth Hostel adheres to the most well-known nationality of Taiwan, which is warm and friendly. It treats everyone as family and friends and shares the most beautiful natural landscape and folk customs of Hualien that we know. Therefore, we welcome backpackers who love to make friends and travel to explore Hualien with us. There are many sightseeing resources in Hualien, and different activities can be arranged from morning to night. There are blue sky and white clouds, green mountains and green land, moist sea and fresh air, and various and extensive scenic spots, such as Taroko and Qixing Lake, which are all world-famous scenic spots. There are more than 6000 businesses in the city, including clothing shops, restaurants, cafes, beverage shops, record stores, book stores, massage, KTV, movie theaters, night food and Aboriginal culture. Whether shopping, recreation, old street tour, Hualien can meet your needs. We have great passion for Taiwan and travel, and love Hualien, a land with good mountains and rivers. While sharing with tourists, we should not forget the importance of environmental protection. All excellent except the old carpet on the floor, suggest to replace it for sanitary and pest control.

Very clean, shower and toilet inside and outside the room. Bed are big enough and comfortable. Breakfast is provided! Toast, ham, cheese and various spreads. The crowd is very different from any hostel I stayed before, many middle age people and even kids!! So might not be the perfect place for you if you want to make friends. Everyone I talked to, from the staff to the guest was extremely nice!
At the reception you can get information to visit the taroko gorge.

Perfectly located across from the train station. Bus station is also only a 3 minute walk. Staff was very nice and helpful. Surprisingly they have a simple yet efficient breakfast service to start your day. I don't eat ham but they had cheese, peanut butter, butter and jam selection. The lady who is in charge of breakfast was working very hard. She was constantly replenishing items for breakfast.
I stayed in a dormitory room. The beds were very comfortable. I stayed for one night. The toilet and shower are inside the room of 4 beds. So if you are staying more than 1 day if you are lucky to have quiet roommates. It may not be easy. If I have a suggestion that would be alcohol spray and room spray since 4 people can use the toilet at any time.
Overall, I recommend the WOW hostel Hualien. Their art work on the floors and decorations are very nice.

Good service, good location near Hualien station, vouchers provided for 7-eleven next door in case breakfast is not enough.
Sound-proofing could be better (from outside AND the neighbours) but hey, overall it's good price for value.

5 min walk to train station. Super convenient.
Local eateries just opposite the hostel.
Bed is steady, not sound at all. Can even walk on the upper deck of the bed.
Very comfy stay.
Able to wash and dry clothes. Dryer machine is really effective in drying clothes. Clothes is absolutely dried.
Alls good just that space wise is kinda small. Will definitely come again:)

It was great. Clean. The common area looks cool and easy to mingle around with people if you would like to. 2mins walk from hualien train station only. When I arrived it was raining heavily but it wasn’t an issue to walk across with an umbrella.. most of the path was sheltered :)
