A truely magical hostel, where you can enjoy the company of hundreds of hummingbirds, and many other spieces of birds while having breakfast. And have a view of the whole village from the mirador-like top floor. Esperansa, the owner welcomed us with kindness, and treated us with the nicest local coffee. We had a perfect time here, our room was comfortable and very fairly priced. I can only recommend

Absolutely beautiful hostel, felt really safe here. The owner was so kind and helpful for us at all hours of the day, booking tours and helping with anything we needed, and the included breakfast was really delicious. Hummingbirds everywhere by the open sided dining room. Perfect place to stay. Was off season so not many other guests for atmosphere but did not effect our enjoyment of the hostel :) would definitely stay again

What a lovely place to stay! Having breakfast with the hummingbirds was amazing. Luis and Esperanza were so friendly and helpful. They made us a delicious breakfast every day. It was extra but worth it. Close to the centre of town and easy to get everywhere. A 4km walk to el jardín de mariposas was very worthwhile. Luis was kind enough to arrange for a taxi to pick us up there. Highly recommend staying here.

Very nice hostel at the edge of the Claudia forest. It feels like a tree house as it is sorrounded by trees. Loved the hammocks in the common area. The couple who runs the hostel is so friendly and helpful. I really recommend it

Really nice guesthouse- very clean family run place with a convenient location. Loved watching the hummingbirds and tanagers at the feeders! Just be sure to bring plenty of cash to Mindo- the one ATM does not honor foreign debit cards.

We stayed here for 2 nights during our time in Mindo. We were welcomed by the very friendly owner, who helped us sort out an activity plan for our 2 days to get the most out of it. He even helped us book activities. He speaks english very well, but the rest of the family/owners only speak Spanish. The breakfast was delicious and in wonderful surroundings and with a great view. Very good location. Rooms are very basic, but clean. The major downside was the ongoing noise from either barking dogs (all night long!) or the nearby school/sports facility and just common noise from the streets. I’m guessing the noise is probably a problem not specific for this place, and would therefore recommend anyways.

It's a simple Hostal, but does the trick. HE GOOD: - Very close to "downtown" - Great Breakfast (Crape with chocolate sauce, various fruits, bread, butter, jam, coffee and juice) in a beautiful terrace where lots of birds are flying around - Clean - Affordable - Big rooms - They have some tours to offer - Filtered water in the first floor - Great service THE BAD - There were a couple of nightclubs very close by, so it was a bit noisy at night - The shower was kind of bad - No nightstand light - VERY simple rooms. I don't mind it, but it might discourage older folks like me. VERDICT Great for the price, I would stay there again.

We had a very good 3-days stay at this hostal in Mindo. Breakfast alongside colibríes and other colored birds. Toucans visit every day. Everyone working here is nice and friendly. A very good ratio price / quality in Mindo. We recommend this place.

My group and I though that it have been one of the best places. We stayed for 3 nights, and didn't want to leave again. The owners is very nice and flexible. Louis the owner was not only our hotel manager, but also our tour guide at the stay. He showed us around the city, and much more without taking any money. He and his wife also offered a lot of tures for a good price. For example an extraordinary birdwatching and river trip, that startet 6 am and ended 4-5 pm. Inklusiv breakfast and borrow of rubber boots and binoculars. All for 125$ for the entire group of 5. Not only is the owners very nice, the place is too It is 4 floors, where you can get a nice breakfast on 3 floor, with hummingbirds and many other smaller tropical birds. The rooms to was nice and clean. All those things combined made our visit to bio hotel mindo unforgettable. Thanks Louis
