Park Hotel

Having stayed for 6 days my first room was near the road and very noisy. Could not sleep. Springs were poking through the mattress, road noise kept me up and the tele did not work! I changed rooms, no tele in the room, at all, quieter though. Was asked for a deposit of £50, gave the receptionist my card. They said it would take 14 days to receive my deposit back. Having phoned them today, they now say they did not charge me the £50 and this is 25 days later! They may be right that they did not take the deposit, however, the receptionist told me about the 14d wait. So not great service, not a great room, won't be staying there again.

So, my partner booked this hotel and then we read the reviews on trip advisor. Suffice to say, we then panicked to try and find another booking as the reviews on here are less then complimentary. Upon failing we decided to give it a try and play it by ear. However, we were greeted with a hotel that is completely different to these reviews. The building has all been freshly painted and decorated. In fact, they were repainting the outside wall whilst we were there. We were greeted by friendly hotel staff who were welcoming and pleasant. There is a £50 deposit but this is released back to you provided you don't smoke in the room or damage it. We were in room C14 and the building this room is housed in has just been recarpetted, you can literally smell the new carpet and paint. The room itself was nothing amazing, but it was clean and functional and more modern. There is plenty of storage although I would stay bring your own hangers for the wardrobe as there weren't any, but we were happy to just store our bags in there. There was a TV which worked perfectly. The bathroom was small but adequate with a working shower. There were 2 toilet rolls provided and complimentary soaps and 2 sets of clean white towels. The window in the bathroom was locked and didn't open. The two windows in our rooms opened and the curtains were clean and modern. The bedding was plain white, immaculate and the bed was firm but comfortable. I would recommend taking a pillow of your own as the ones provided are quite thin, but some people like that. The walls are quite thin in the building and we could hear what was going on in the hall way but that being said, there was barely anything happening and we slept soundly for the 2 nights we were there. We didn't have the breakfast as we don't think they were doing it, but if you would want that double check on reception. There was a kettle but no cups or teaspoons so I would take them. I would also recommend taking a fan in the summer, because we did find the room incredibly hot and humid but we are people who are ALWAYS hot, so this isn't a reflection on the room. All in all, it isn't the ritz but it is a lot better since undergoing some evident renovation and is a pleasant, budget friendly stay. The staff are super friendly and can't do enough for you. We will definitely rebook and look forward to seeing this little hotel getting better reviews going forward. I didn't take any photos as was too wrapped up in visiting London but it genuinely looks nothing like the photos on here anymore. Absolute dump. Pictures are deceiving. Theres no tea cups or complimentary tea/coffee. They charge extra £50 deposit on arrival n dont provide the basic. Rude and clueless staff. I had to argue to get tea/ coffee, no milk provided in the end. On arrival staff adamantly demanded the deposit referring back to website terms n conditions then when I referenced back to the website where it said breakfast is included they acted clueless n nodged their shoulders n refused to give me refund so i can leave and refer back to website claiming they dont deal with payments etc. contradicting fools and think they can bully u into their way. Do not book waste of time n money. Rather sleep in ur cars than here.

The hotel is basic and a building site. No cups, no shower gel and no toilet roll. Good thing is I have them in my bag. It’s cheap for one night. The place is clean at least. A deposit is held on my card. After two weeks it’s still not released. Don’t expect too much, then you will be fine in this place.

Be advised: - the hotel will take a £50 payment from your debit card, this isn't a pre-authorisation but an actual charge to your account returned to you in an advised 5 - 14 days. - You will be asked to provide your passport or driving license for ID purposes - This hotel is seemingly being used to support displaced people Positives: - The bedding was clean and comfortable - The beds are firm (my preference) - Breakfast is included, but this is mainly eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, toast - don't go expecting a full continental - Bathroom was adequate, a decent shower and clean. - There is adequate free parking for a London hotel - It is located across the road from a park which is good for a morning walk and is close to shops and local restaurants Negatives: - The hotel is showing signs of ware throughout - carpets could benefit from a shampoo and room furnishings are showing age - Triple room but only one cup and saucer (I'm northern, it had to be said! :-) ) We arrived at the hotel at 22:00 and left at 10:30 the following day as we were using the hotel as a base for our impromptu London adventure - for that purpose this was a perfectly good hotel. The bedding was clean and the private bathroom was adequate (again - a private bathroom for London rooms at this price point are VERY rare). I feel maybe hotel business is secondary to B&B accommodation at present and with the size of the accommodation the management may be in a position to "renovate" a part of the property for hotel use only - I would also probably suggest offering it as room only. A chain hotel room in this area of London would cost you approx £150 without breakfast, so please go to this hotel with expectations in line with what you paid for the room . Negatives:

Valentine Park is opposite, get yourself a tent and camp there. A dirty hotel, very unhelpful staff and a waft of exotic tobacco greet you upon your arrival. That is when you should turn around and find alternative accommodation, it will be one of the best decisions you'll make. Please, don't go here, I know they're saying they've put people up during the pandemic, but they haven't cleaned after them, and of course, there's the exotic tobacco issue.

I booked a double room at this hotel last minute for £76.18 for one night. I arrived there around 7.30pm with my friend. I have several bags with firstly which I carried due to the hotel not having parking for my car. I was then told at the reception I needed to show my ID which wasn’t an issue. But what shocked me was the man on reception at the time was adamant that the hotel policy states that they ask for all guests to pay £50 holding deposit and it is in my confirmation email! It turns out that I checked my email from agoda and there was nothing in the email about a pre authorisation at all and I read over the small print a few times and even to my bank! So clearly this guy was threatening me, it was either not being able to stay if I didn’t give my card for this pre authorisation or give my card details and stay! I couldn’t believe how rude this guy was on reception. I haven’t ever stayed in this hotel, so I definitely did not expect such terrible services. I gave my card for the authorisation anyway, and the man gave me an old school style key for my hotel room. I had asked for two glasses too which were dirty and I happened to clean out properly once I got into my hotel room, the key wouldn’t even turn properly and was getting stuck. As soon as my friend and i got into the room it had a funny smell, we had to air it out. I couldn’t explain what kind of smell it was but it wasn’t very nice! It got worse as time went on honestly! Tiles were cracked on the floor in the bathroom which was dangerous to me, old heater that smelt funny too when you turn the heating on. The bed was ridiculously uncomfortable and springy, I found it so uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep the whole night and another person next door was snoring so loudly it kept me awake. Obviously the walls were too thin! I ended up having a backache the next morning thanks to Park hotel and their springy bed! When I got up for breakfast the next morning I was surprised that there was no social distancing measures in place, people just coming and going as normal. I didn’t like that as some people were even rude and bumping into me! The eggs were cold, no brown or whole meal toast just white toast which I don’t even eat! No cereal just tea and coffee cheap that is!! I just wanted to eat quickly and get out of the breakfast room. On the way I asked the other reception guy for a hairdryer, he didn’t have anymore so I couldn’t even have a shower! Out of the whole hotel they have 10 hairdryers! Which means you literally have to bring everything of your own for this horrible hotel. No telephone in the hotel room so you couldn’t even call to complain etc. Even the second receptionist wasn’t very helpful! Doesn’t really say much about this hotel judging from all these reviews most recently: it seems like Park Hotel are not even a hotel judging from the layout of them, a lot of things need to be upgraded and change. Bedroom was really clean and very pleasant. Staff is actually listening and making things happen which is a refreshing change. Breakfast was included and delicious. Nothing bad to say really!! Check in and check out were both very simple and straight forward.

The stuff are very unhelpful. They don’t care about customers. Very bad hotel . Very dirty.. They didn’t change the bin , towels or anything. Please have a expensive one than this dirty hotel with bad staff .
