We stayed at the Glenartney while we were visiting Arran for a family occasion, the main reason we chose here was because my Husband and his Family used to holiday here every year when he was younger. The house is spotless, beautifully decorated throughout and in an ideal position, overlooking the bay with Goat Fell clearly visible in the distance. We were disappointed to learn that breakfast would be served 'in a box' due to Covid and wasn't going to be a cooked Scottish breakfast, but a continental style. We were very pleasantly surprised though, that this 'box' was a tray laden with breakfast goodies, including home-made granola, poached pears, croissants, bolied eggs, ham, cheese, orange juice, creamy yoghurt, fresh fruit, toast, and the option of creamy porridge! We don't like to see things go to waste, so had a very filling breakfast! We have the recipe for the Home-made granola, and have since made it at home as we loved it so much! Our Hosts were friendly, there were home cooked cakes and tea available in the afternoon, and 2 nice spacious lounges to sit in if the weather wasn't great. Our room was on the small side, but nicely equipped with a new bathroom and plenty of space for us and our belongings. I would definitely go back to the Glenartney, really good value for money and a nice relaxed a**osphere. Perhaps annual holidays in Arran are going to be a thing for my Husband again...
