Deluxe Newport Hotel

La seule bonne chose à propos de cet hôtel est son emplacement, les toilettes étaient sales, la télévision ne fonctionnait pas, le lit était sale, ils n'ont aucun service.

Très bien situé dans la vieille ville, le personnel était vraiment serviable et compétent.

Nous avons été très déçus de l'hôtel. Les lits cliquetaient tout le temps et étaient vieux. Les chambres étaient tout sauf insonorisées. On entendait tout dans le couloir. C'était ennuyeux, surtout le matin. On pouvait même entendre bruyamment la salle de bain des voisins. Bien qu'il y ait un service de chambre quotidien, cela ne faisait probablement que le lit. Nous avons dû demander deux fois du papier toilette à la réception. A notre arrivée il y avait des cotons démaquillants dans la salle de bain. Ceux-ci n'ont pas été retirés tout au long de la semaine. Il y avait une mini télé sans télécommande. Il y avait un coffre-fort et la climatisation. La seule bonne chose était vraiment l'emplacement. À seulement 2 minutes à pied de l'arrêt de bus.

The hotel was about a 7 minute walk to the Hippodrome/Blue Mosque/Hagia Sofia. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly. And the Wifi was about the best we have had in a hotel in Europe. The room's heater was adequate. Unfortunately, that is about all the good there is to say about the hotel. The first room we were given did not have a working outlet near the bed (there was an outlet, but it did not work). As I use a CPAP, I need a working outlet. They did move us to another room (Bigger with a 3rd bed) right away and with no fuss, which was appreciated. In the new room, the windows were wonky and hard to open and close. The cleaning staff opened them everyday when cleaning, and we had trouble closing them each day when were returned to the room. There were warm spots in parts of the floor. Not sure if it was poor in floor heating or some other electrical issue, kind of scary. The bathroom shower leaked. The shower head was broken and sprayed in all kinds of directions except where you wanted it to go. The hairdryers were not the kind to be hardwired, but were plugged in then plastered over, another thing that made us leery of the electrical standards at the hotel. And then it did not work, it blew cold air. The beds were worn and uncomfortable. The hotel breakfast looks like it is a buffet in the pictures, but is a served plate instead. They brought a big basket of bread, unlimited tea and coffee that you serve yourself and a plate with cheese, meat, olives, egg (scrambled or boiled), jam and butter. It was enough for my sister and I, but not a lot of food for most people. Perhaps you can ask for seconds, I am unsure. The hotel was cleaned daily and we had not complaints there. But smoking was happening in the building. A couple of days, I was not feeling well and I went down to the breakfast room to sit, so the staff could get in our room to clean, and there were people smoking downstairs. We felt that we could smell it up on the second floor and came home with clothes that smelled of smoke.

Four night stay during our city break in Istanbul. Good location, close to tram station and within walking distance from other central attractions. The staff was really helpful with all our inquiries, they really go out of their way to help you. For example, when I was trying to install the IstanbulKart app which wasn't working with my foreign phone number the person at the reception provided me with their own phone number to get the confirmation code. And when that didn't work they offered to lend us an IstanbulKart for public transport that they had at hand (but I had already bought one). Our room was a deluxe room on the top floor with a French balcony (they also have regular-sized balconies so be sure to ask for the one you desire). Clean, sufficiently spacious, sufficient wall sockets (but near the bed we had one European and one UK so either way one can't be used without an adapter). WiFi was a bit spotty about 25% of the time, but otherwise worked fine. Bed, sheets and pillows just ok. The negative aspects were the damp smell in the room, the water infiltrations in the ceiling and the both the entrance and the bathroom doors were creaking awfully. The bathroom had ventilation, and we loved the heated floor. We only received hair products (shampoo and conditioner). No toilet paper refills, we ended up buying our own (there are 2 supermarkets very close to the hotel). These last two aspects could have probably been easily solved by reporting them to the staff, but we often end up buying shower gel and TP ourselves and that's what we resorted to in this situation as well. The omnipresent issue of insufficient room for hanging towels. Shower pressure very weak and the water was running either piping hot or ice cold, couldn't combine the two. And, if you're not changing the towels, there's no point in just folding them just to mix them up (some people prefer not to exchange towels between them). At reception they also sell sims with local data plans, much more affordable than the ones at the airport. For example, during the period we stayed here, a 5-day unlimited data plan was around 600 ₺. Much better suited for a short stay when compared to a 40 GB data plan purchased at the airport for 950 ₺ which was valid for 1 month. However, note with the current economic situation in Turkey these tariffs can change almost on a daily basis (pretty much everywhere you'll see prices written with markers and updated as the needs dictate). In the end, you feel kind of bad leaving a 3-star review after all that politeness and hospitability (and that's a common occurrence in Turkey), but one must try to look beyond the 5 star staff (that kind of have to work with what they've got) and keep objective for any potential travelers that would read this. Feedback was requested and dutifully provided, remains to be seen what they do with it. Even with all the above though, I wouldn't say we don't recommend the hotel, we would stay here again for the location and val

Came to see Istanbul with my friend in June and stayed at this hotel. The location is pretty good, it’s close to the main touristic places in Old City European side of Istanbul and 2 mins away from the main tram station that will take you to any part of the city. The room is pretty, clean and has all the necessities you need for a city sightseeing vacation. This is a great deal for the money asked, but what makes it special is the staff. The owner and receptionists were such sweethearts, so friendly and always ready to help! We’ve become friends with them and they really helped us with great advice on what to see and where to go! Recommend to everyone who comes to see Istanbul from as a tourist!

Плюсы: расположение- близко ко всем достопримечательностям, удобный матрас, съедобный завтрак (судя по предыдущим отзывам, завтрак улучшили),на ресепшн говорят по-английски. Минусы: лет 10 назад я бы с удовольствием пожилая в этом отеле, но сейчас он изрядно потрёпанный временем, причём никакие косметические процедуры с ним не производят(( нам достался видимо самый худший номер 305: обои отклеиваются везде, розетки возле кровати еле держатся, фен в туалете сгоревший (хорошо, был запасной), плесень на потолке в комнате и в туалете, причём, в туалете дыра в потолке и все время по стенке течёт, сначала думали, что вода, потом выяснилось, что это из канализации…. В общем, пора делать ремонт капитальный. Не стоит своих денег(((

Die Lage ist einfach perfekt! Man ist nah an der Blauen Moschee etc. (ca. 5min) aber ist trotzdem nicht direkt im Touri-Gebiet. Einige sehr gute, authenische Restaurants und ein Supermarkt in der Nähe. Das Personal war extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit! Zimmer war sehr sauber :)
