Hampton Inn Jefferson City at the Capital Mall

If you are looking for an absolutely fabulous motel, the Hampton Inn at the Capital Mall in Jefferson City, Missouri, is the one! My husband and I were on a trip for business and stayed there for 4 nights. The King bed, the pillows, the bathroom and shower were all SUPER clean and perfect! They have an awesome breakfast and Christine makes sure you have everything you need!

I had a pleasant stay. My room was very clean. I had a king size bed, and I was very happy that it had a nice firm mattress. My room had a flat screen TV, refrigerator, and coffee maker with coffee packets. It didn't have a microwave, but I did notice there was one in the common area of the lobby. Shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap were provide in the bathroom. Breakfast was provided in the morning (6 am to 10 am). It was a very nice breakfast, which included eggs, sausage patties, red potatoes, bagels, muffins, scones, cereal, oatmeal, juice, milk, and coffee. (There was other items I can't remember, too.) The hotel is right off of US 50, and was only about a 10 minutes drive to the Capitol building. I would defiantly stay here again when visiting.

This hotel is very convenient to everything in Jefferson City. The staff was quite helpful and pleasant. Our room was very clean and was the entire hotel. The room in which we stayed was quite comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was nice and tasty. Would stay here again.

The stay started off extremely bad. Booked through 3rd party but they never booked us a room. Hailey from the front desk helped us with our situation and saved the day. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was nice with a great choice of items!

The biggest issue for this hotel is the manager, Charles. The check-in and check-out staff were both fine and professional. First room was unclean, the staff responded by raising this their manager, Charles' attention. He showed me a different room next door, and still unclean, then another room, still unclean. Three rooms in total on the same side of the floor near each other. Charles asked me if I wanted to keep checking and I told him I doubt that the fourth room would be better. After seeing three unclean rooms, it's no longer an isolated incident but a consistent quality issue, can be a particular housekeeping cleaning this section of rooms did not do well, or can be the cleanliness standard has dropped and all decided to cut corners by skipping cleaning the obvious, let alone the details. Regardless the root cause, Charles should own up this responsibility since he's the manager overseeing the entire facility. Unfortunately, he did not apologize, came with a superior attitude and belittled by saying, "See how lucky you are, if I am not here on site, you would be stuck in the first room. You have the choice to keep checking more rooms, but you chose not to see the fourth room." I responded by saying I should not have to check the room to begin with. I also provided him instant feedback about his attitude. The next day, the check-out staff told me Charles authorized the full refund. Getting these refunds or asking for refunds due to bad service attitudes or uncleanliness is more like an insult. Much prefer doing it right and make my stay comfortable. I don't feel comfortable recommending this hotel because of negative management attitude and uncleanliness.

I have tried numerous hotels in the area and after doing so, I always choose to stay here. Friendly staff, clean rooms, the breakfast includes a variety, and the location is quiet! I also choose this location because it is on the edge of the city but close to restaurants and shops.

This is a very pleasant hotel and it was a good choice for business in Versailles, MO. The only drawback is the lack of soundproofing. I was in room 310 and noticed noise from room next door and room above. The positives were that the room was very clean and that they had fresh fruit in the lobby in the evening. I was able to pick up a fresh banana for breakfast each of the two nights I stayed there, because my schedule was such that I was leaving each morning before the 6AM breakfast service. The staff was pleasant. I arrived early (about noon) on my first day and asked Linda at the front desk if I could have my room early. She agreed readily and thanked me for being an Hhonors member. She handed me two bottles of water. Linda called later to make sure I liked my room. I definitely did, partly because they still had real alarm clock/radios. Most hotels have done away with those, and I like listening to the local NPR station on the radio while I use my computer and iPad for other things. There's a Starbucks on the service drive 1 exit away (you don't have to get back on the freeway). There's also a Hy-Vee supermarket and a *****tore nearby. I would definitely stay there again.

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into our room. The room looked brand new. Everything about the room including the bathroom was very clean and neat. If I didn’t live here, I’d definitely stay again. We only stayed because our flight came in late and we didn’t want to wake up our entire house when we got home.

They offered housekeeping on request at check-in and we requested it halfway through our stay. It did not happen. We asked for it the next day and still did not happen. We went down to the front desk and obtained fresh towels and more toilet paper and were told to place our overflowing trash cans and used towels out in the hall and someone would be up to collect them. They were still there the next day when we checked out. We killed 4 beetles climbing up the walls. We did not report those because we had taken care of the problem. On the plus side the bed was comfortable and the thermostat worked. We will not be staying there on our next visit.
