We’ve been coming to the region for years, and the LJ used to be our go-to place for accommodation, meals or drinks - both winter and summer. But no more. Seats in the booths and out on the deck are in need of replacement, or at least a good clean; as are tables / benches in the bistro. And it is no good having a designated smoking area when patrons just smoke wherever they want to – staff must actively enforce regulations the licensee has to abide by. The deck is not a designated smoking area! We were back in Jindabyne and at the LJ for 5 nights in Dec 2023. Disappointingly, one evening we were not able to get a meal. Although menus given out at the bar and the bistro state the kitchen is open until 9pm, when we tried to order at 8.05pm, we were told the kitchen had closed at 8pm. And no, we saw no other signage detailing this. Our party of five were not the only ones disappointed by this inconsistency. I know there is currently lots of renovations at the LJ, but we won’t be back in the meantime.

Cold. Airconditioning loud and hard to operate. Pillows uncomfortable. Bathroom no heating and louvred windows. Noisy. Food overpriced. Wait Staff indifferent. Chef rude and inflexible. I would only stay here as a last resort. Would not recommend.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is well located, very central to Jindabyne town and right on the lake. We heard lots of noise from our room, the walls seem to be very thin! In particular, if your neighbour leaves earlier than you you will hear everything from their coughing to their car packing. It is right next door to the pub which was very noisy on Friday night but luckily I had earplugs with me. The sink is located not in the (small) bathroom but rather in the main room which I found a bit weird and is not ideal if one of a couple wishes to get a drink during the night, the tap is loud and it will likely wake the other people in the room. Housekeeping was also a bit strange - they replaced the biscuits near the kettle but did nothing else!

Stayed here for a quick overnight stop between VIC and NSW. The room was comfortable and it's handy for the pub (located behind the rooms). Location for the rooms was right on the water and you can walk down to the path that circles the lake. It's not the flashiest of places to stay but for an overnight stop it was very good.

The "Life of Riley" tour organised by the Lake Jindabyne Hotel was a great tour/stay/dine all inclusive experience organised through the hotel. Over the 4 days we visited most places of interest and then returned to the hote at the end of the dayl. Our room looked over the lake and was clean and well appointed. Meals could have been a little better, but no big deal. Breakfast was great.

Like rossp I too was on the Lake Jindabyne Hotel organised Life of Riley tour. The hotel couldn't have been more accommodating for our group of 31. We were very well catered for with more than adequate food and variety every day. Yes the outside of the hotel is a bit tired but the rooms were very spacious, and clean. Bedding and pillows amazing. Sure there is a bit of noise from the pub at night, solution, close your bathroom door! certainly cut out the noise in my room.

I rate rooms on 4 thing’s, shower, bed, pillows, cleanliness, this hotel/ motel is perfect on every count. The hot breakfast is perfect before you head out on a big day. Room size is ideal. We were part of the life of Riley tour which is organised by the hotel, our tour guide Justine was terrific showing us the delights of the snowy mountains, nothing was a problem for her or our wonderful driver Matt, all our meals were supplied (including a picnic lunch) highly recommend this tour

Paid $450 during school hols to stay here. Only stayed here as most Jindabyne hotels wanted a 2 night minimum during peak season and we only needed one night. Breakfast buffet was mediocre. Location is great as is opposite Nugget's Crossing shopping centre. Tired motel otherwise and the noise from the pub is quite loud.

we have been staying here for around 40 years! we book the same room every year(family Room) overlooking the lake,nice clean sheets and towels and early morning breakfast included (one small point breakfast food needs to be hotter),we love it here very convenient ,and hotel has great dinner selection
