"It was cool and rainy in Västra Götaland most of the summer this year. The tans we started in June faded in July and August. It seldom got above 20 C. We longed for sun and hot sandy beaches. So we returned in late August to Karpathos and the Panorama Hotel, our second year in a row. The Panorama is family-run, with an unpretentious family feeling. Room 302 was clean and comfortable, with a sea-view from the balcony. Breakfast was simple and adequate, and included in the price. We were 300 meters from the beach, and a couple hundred from a well-stocked supermarket. It was a ten-minute walk from the centre of Pigadia. Best of all, we were able to book our holiday on short notice, and it fit our budget. We didn't pay for extras we wouldn't use, like a pool, and we got decent wifi. Nicholas and his team are super friendly and go the extra mile to help their guests. As I said in my review last year, you can pay more for four walls and a bed, or you can stay at the Panorama and have that with a little left in your pocketbook."

"Expecting much more for the money we paid; no shower gel available in the bathroom. Room was small with a small balcony looking at a narrow dead end street.Breakfast was basic;no fresh orange juice provided and little variety of fruit and vegetables. There was no wi-fi connection in the room though it was included in the amenities. Narrow staircase leading to the rooms and no elevator for those carrying heavy luggage. Hotel is located in the heart of Pigadia but parking nearby is another issue as the roads around it are very narrow."

"J'ai rarement été aussi déçue qu'à l'hôtel Sound of the Sea. Les photos du site web d'Eden Viaggi sont totalement trompeuses et ne reflètent en rien la réalité actuelle de l'établissement. J'ai joint quelques photos prises en septembre 2025 pour démontrer que, malheureusement, la situation est bien différente de ce qui est présenté en ligne. Malheureusement, le climat a été rude pour le Sound of the Sea, en raison d'un entretien déplorable. La saleté de notre chambre était inacceptable. Bien que la chambre fût de taille convenable et que le calme environnant nous permette d'entendre le bruit des vagues, les points positifs s'arrêtent là. Le prix est celui d'un hôtel 4 étoiles, mais le service et les conditions sont comparables à ceux d'un hôtel 2 étoiles vétuste et délabré. Certaines installations visibles sur les photos, comme le spa, n'ont jamais été construites (il s'agit peut-être d'une image de synthèse) ou sont complètement à l'abandon. Le court de tennis est en mauvais état et inutilisable. Le personnel s'est également révélé insuffisant : le service était loin d'être à la hauteur des standards attendus d'un hôtel 4 étoiles, même en Grèce. Le plus décevant a été l'absence totale de soutien de la part d'Eden Viaggi, qui n'a apporté aucune aide ni répondu à nos préoccupations. Il est navrant de constater que l'établissement affiche une note moyenne de 4,7 sur Google. J'espère que cet avis et les photos jointes permettront à d'autres voyageurs de faire un choix éclairé et d'éviter la même mésaventure."

"L'hôtel était magnifique et propre et le personnel était incroyablement utile. Panos et son équipe à la réception (en particulier, petite Jenny et Linda) ne pouvaient pas faire assez pour rendre notre séjour confortable et agréable, comme l'ébullient Ifegenia (qui nous appelons aussi Jenny!) qui regarde les invités. Le plus petit problème a été réglé immédiatement et ils ont retiré toutes les arrêts pour rendre notre séjour vraiment agréable. Nous avons demandé si quelqu'un pouvait jouer au tennis et Yanis, le cloche, un joueur de tennis adorable, organisé des cours pour nous et joué avec nous avec un autre client de l'hôtel. Il est très bien placé pour le petit déjeuner et le dîner, et nous avons été très heureux de la sélection de nourriture et de la volonté et de l'aide de tous les gardiens. C'était une belle vacance et nous espérons revenir plus tard dans l'année. "

On the last day of our holiday, we couldn't take a shower because there was no water; we were given bottles of water to wash ourselves!!! Minimal breakfast, dirty glasses. In short, an inconvenience to forget, except for the island, which is truly SPECTACULAR!"

"I went to the Poseidon with my family over the summer and everything was great. I've always wanted to visit a greek Island so Karpathos was a dream coming true. At first we were unsure which hotel to choose but the Poseidon was definetly the pefrect choice for us. We had a beautiful view on the island from our room which we loved. The Staff was very nice and helpful and we felt instantly welcomed. I really enjoyed my stay there and can't wait to go back next summer."

"We are staying 12 days. Food and rooms are wonderful. Service at the restaurant and housekeeping- impeccable. A very negative experience at the beach has very much tainted our trip. We feel unwelcome. We were told at check in we had an assigned pair of beach chairs, but if we wanted we could pick a beach chair, whichever worked for us. It would be assigned for our stay. That evening we went for our swim and next to our assigned chairs was a very intoxicated person. The next day we requested a chair in the middle of the hotel chair area, far from the original seats. The guy at the beach said ok but to be prepared to leave at any time if other guests come. We complied with this. This morning he raised his voice at me and my son when I requested to take more central chairs. He non stop kept interrupting me. I tried to explain we didn’t mind not being in the first row, we would take any chairs- we just wanted to be in the middle of hotel guests. When I explained what I was told at check in, he responded “I don’t care”, and proceeded to interrupt again and raise his voice. Instead of simply asking the check in person or a manager for help. I understand his work may be difficult, and maybe we were misinformed- but the way he responded to a request was incredibly unprofessional. If I had been one of the big 1.85m men in my family, I doubt he would have spoken to me this way. Instead he terrified my little kid. I had to ask him to lower his voice and be polite in front of my son. Even worse- after we went to the beach chairs he told us to take, he came back and said we were in the wrong chairs again. Then he proceeded to tell us he is the boss of the chairs and he decides so he doesn’t need to discuss anything with anyone. In many other places, this man would not have been tolerated a day. Worst beach experience. I tried to find a manager to discuss this with. Spoke to two different employees, while requesting a manager, and they both insisted he is the reference for beach chairs and we have to comply. For the price you can have a much better experience in a Greek beach resort. Especially given the time one spends at the beach. Sadly everything else is wonderful. Especially the chef at the restaurant is up to par with 5-star resort chefs. That said, having stayed in beach resorts in Asia, Hawaii, Cali, all over Europe, this is by far the worst beach experience."

"The suites are located in a beautiful area right in front of the beach. It is perfect for windsurfing, as there's lots of wind every day. Nearby Anemos provides surfing equipment. The rooms are premium, very nicely decorated and spacious. They're modern and very clean. The owners, Mary and Manolis are very hospitable and helpful."

"Cavo Marelia est bien plus qu'un hôtel : c'est un hommage à la beauté de Karpathos, une symphonie d'architecture, de nature et de joie de vivre. Ici, un lieu se crée pour combler les désirs des voyageurs en quête de tranquillité, de design, de délices culinaires et d'une hospitalité authentique, le tout en parfaite harmonie. Nous, Kati et Andi, originaires d'Autriche, avions déjà passé des vacances ici sous l'ancienne direction et n'avions pas été déçus après l'importante rénovation. Bien au contraire : cette année marquait notre quatrième séjour, et à chaque fois, nous sommes de nouveau conquis par l'atmosphère et la délicatesse des nouveaux propriétaires. Bien sûr, certains clients trouveront peut-être un ou deux petits défauts, mais il y aura toujours des mécontents, et on ne peut jamais satisfaire tout le monde. They are absolutely hospitable, kind, considerate, also they offer laundry services, they carry your luggages, and they are flexible for check-in. Also they made sure to made you feel that they care for tenants' needs. The owners cook breakfast with natural, pure ingredients and organic eggs (€10 per breakfast). Moreover, they made sure to answer every question and request and also they are discreet. Their apartments are comfortable, with a great view. They clean their apartments very often, and also they change bed linen and towels very regularly, and they provide toiletries supplements."

She is always present, not only physically, but also by mental point of you with big smile. This is the place, where you really feel that you’re are welcome. The Karpathos island is very beautiful with many small villages and the Arkasa Palace made our holiday perfect, Hotel rooms are decorated with really nice style and all facilities are high level. "Arkasa Bay offered more comfort, more space and more of a welcome in comparison with most other Greek island hotels that we have stayed at. We see this reflected in reviews by other guests as well. Breakfasts were tailored to people's requests. Rooms were cleaned every day. The hotel is small enough that it feels homely. You often see cats roaming around the terrace but they tend to shy away from guests and are fed discretely out of view. The nearest sandy beach is 10 minutes away, where you can enjoy a lunch or drinks at the nearby Glaros restaurant. For evening meals, we had the choice of several affordable restaurants close by, with Kipos being the best in our opinion. The only downside to Arkasa seemed to be impractical bus timetables if you didn't own a car. An excursion to Olympos is highly recommended."

The apartments are quite simple but have everything that you need, if you get a sea view, which I think most have then the sunsets are lovely. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Probably best to hire a car to make the most of the area. Montemar has been great for a relaxing break, I hope we will return."
