Templehall Hotel

Kerry was a great host. We were in process of walking St Cuthberts Way and stayed here one night. Kerry welcomed at the door and we were able to shed our wet boots and clothes and were quickly able to relax. Dinner (Proper Fish n Chips) was excellent! Plenty of board games in the warm sitting room downstairs. Would recommend to others!

Such a welcoming place to stay whilst walking St Cuthbert's Way. Comfortable beautiful rooms, lovely food and amazing staff. Great service for walkers, with places to put muddy boots and lots of local information available. Would highly recommend.

Cosy room, comfortable bed, absolutely quiet in the night, delicious breakfast, family atmosphere (5 rooms totally), run by a very charming local lady. It's now on my top 3 list of hotels/b&bs where I ever stayed in my life. Lovely surrounding.

Easy to find, plenty of parking space. Friendly staff. Very comfortable and well equipped room (Room 2). Did not eat in the hotel as we were attending a family party locally. Excellent breakfast in the morning. Good location for walkers and cyclists and for visiting local places of interest.

We had an amazing evening meal at Temple hall restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed everything! Kerry made us very welcome and despite having staffing issues ,she and the chef ensured that customers had a first class experience. Good selection of food on offer. .

Lovely, friendly, small hotel in pretty village on the St Cuthbert’s Way. Nice food, beautiful view from garden. Special thanks to Hazel for making us all so welcome. The breakfast in particular, was delicious.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst walking St Cutherberts Way and received a warm welcome as soon as we arrived The evening meals were of excellent quality, as was rhe cooked breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and well equipped. When we arrived back with wet walking boots, the staff provided newspaper to stuff them and a drying room, as well as offering a range of options for packed lunches. We stayed here was booked via a luggage transfer company and we have since learnt that Templehall offer their own service where you can be based there all week rather than having to pack up every day. We would certainly consider this in the future. Thanks to the team for a lovely stay and welcome.

We booked for a week on the St Cuthbert's Way package, which is a great way to do the whole walk based at a centre. Sadly I couldn't do the walk due to illness but my husband did and found it very well organised. The hotel is very welcoming, comfortable and friendly and I found the peaceful light room a great place to relax. The food was always freshly prepared and we particularly enjoyed having fresh vegetables and the home made crumbles. Many thanks to Kerry and Hazel for making us so welcome, and do hope to be back next year so I can try again to do the walk.

We stayed for one night while walking St Cuthbert’s Way. Good welcome from reception. The room was clean and comfortable, and the rainforest shower was great! Dinner and break fast were both good, although I found the decor in the large bar/dining room a little odd, and with hardly anyone there it lacked atmosphere.. It was nice to have a separate lounge area for residents. We also enjoyed the free half pint for St Cuthbert’s Way walkers.
