The traditional ryokan was very charming and perfectly alluring. The decor of traditional artifacts of the Edo period gave a pleasant insights to a former opulence. The inside and outside onsens were clean with a clear zen and ambiance. How I love the traditional kimono-styled house clothes offering a comfortable restorative relaxing dress code.

Nice place in Kiso with very comfortable rooms and all expected amenities. It offers very delicious Japanese dinner and breakfast. Onsen was small but very enjoyable. Interesting town to explore. Hiking trails close by.

It is a very nice Hotel with tradionel rooms. Some rooms have 'onsen' in the room, which is very convenient. The Food was very good, it was an traditional style which I very like. The staff was very polite. Would recommend this Hotel. 👌

We stayed only one night on our hiking tour of parts of Nakasendo Way. Everything was top-notch: ambiance, room, dinner, breakfast, service, and, of course, onsen. This was my first experience of an onsen and it was a great one! I went both in the evening, before dinner, and early in the morning, before breakfast when I was alone there. I highly recommend this ryokan.

A beautiful place. The rooms a very comfortable, modern and very clean. The food was lovely and different every night. The onsen is well stocked with body products and was a blessing and a wonderful end to the long days of exploring. Sake shop directly across the road, washing facilities available. Rekha is a wonderful and warm host as were the other staff. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. Leanne

Room shower room with seat was great. Yukatas were very nice. Onsen was simple & just the right temperature. Meals were excellent.

Excellent accommodations and service. Would highly recommend ryokan for the experience of embracing traditional Japanese culture.

The stay was pleasant for us. The room has more than enough space and comfortable. The public bath and hot springs was so good in relaxing my muscles after a 18km walk from Tsumago to Kiso-furushima. Service and food were wonderful.

Wonderful atmosphere and very attentive staff, would come back again. Quiet and very peaceful . Room was very clean and spacious. The lobby was inviting and full of character.

The Room was well appointed with a couple of higher chairs for a westerners knees. The hot bath experience before dinner was relaxing. Dinner was lovely and there was plenty of choice at breakfast in the morning. A lovely lounge next to reception provides free tea and coffee as well.

Very nice staff with really great service, even bus shuttle back to the railway in the morning. Good onsen with outside area as well. Food arranged very well and very good. Rooms clean and nice.

We had an great experience in this hotel. Loved the dinner, hospitality and the private onsen! And lastly the king size bed!

Welcoming hotel and friendly staff . We felt like we were getting the real Japanese hospitality experience, including the hotel and room design, food (huge portions!) and great coffee for breakfast.

The rooms are fantastic, we were in the Annex and the finish and quality of the fittings are superb. A bed side table would have been appreciated though. Could not get my head around the kettle. Very clear instruction needed. Very comfy bed and the Onsen was great. Lovely atmosphere too. The main building is also lovely and the staff are the best. Very attentive, good English My only gripe was with the meals - and this may not be the hotels fault. I was with a walking group of 12 people. The evening meals were stunning. They were set meals , Beautifully presented like a 10 course tasting menu. It almost felt like a shame to eat it. At breakfast however we essentially had a similar offering and I just felt over faced by it. I would have been very happy with coffee and a croissant. It was the lack of choice that was my issue. We were there for a few days and I had the Japanese breakfast and then a western style that had cold scrambled eggs with a small cold frankfurter. This will not appeal to many westerners. I think if they want business from westerners they need to offer choice in all meals. That gripe aside we had a lovely time and I was sorry to leave.
