We travel a lot, we are very spoilt, but this is one of the most beautiful places in the world! The service is very personal, you feel at home the moment you arrive. Sitting on the terrace in the evening and looking down on the lights of Knysna is unique.

The views all around, the inside and outside areas are just beautiful and the bedrooms and communal areas designed and set up with great style - this is a place to stay to indulge in all of this and the great hospitality and thoughtful touches from Sam, Gordon and their great staff. The place to stay in Kynsna.

Alkira offers an amazing top notch experience all round. From the most exquisite views all round this beautiful place with decor out of a magazine, to fireplaces and different areas all around this place where you can just be and relax. Sam and her team looks after your every step and can never do enough, the food was incredible. This place is simply the best. It offers everything, whatever you want to celebrate or just come and relax, laugh and make memories. I will be back over and over again and will never get enough of Alkira.

We had an incredible evening celebrating our 14th Anniversary at Alkira. We absolutely loved the food, the ambience, the incredible views! The hospitality was out of this world and honestly the best breakfast ever! I think the only aspect that I could possibly fault is that there weren't tea / coffee making facilities in the room. Otherwise, everything was incredible and such a spoil to spend the night there. Thank you to Sam and her brilliant team!

Alkira Lodge is THE place! Most enjoyable. Precisely placed on top of a hill with a stunning 360° view on to the mountains and on to the ocean and the lagoon. Kitchen and wine cellar are just awesome and the host, Samantha is wonderful hearty. All staff members are very professional.

Absolute perfection, 5 stars, all around. This property and Sam and all the staff 100% made our time in Knysna total bliss. My husband and I stayed in the private villa - LOVED it. The views from Alkira are unreal. I think the most beautiful location of all, viewing all of Knysna during the day or under the moon light. (And still just a very short drive to town.) The food was out of this world. Fresh, local, inventive and endless! Sam has created such a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy evening cocktails, watch the sun set over the beach, cozy fires, great music…obviously I could go on and on about the perfection of Alkira. The villa was stocked with everything, loved the plunge pool, super clean, great linens, unreal view, loved all the fire place options, sadly never used an inch of the kitchen because the chef was way too incredible to pass up but it looked stocked with anything you could need. Alkira is a special special place, not to be missed. Thank you over and over for your hospitality Sam! AND Gordon! (Be sure to request Gordon’s sommelier expertise in the evenings - top shelf guy and very fun to chat with.) You will see us again Alkira! ❤️

We recently stayed here for 3 nights for a ladies health retreat and the venue was just incredible! Never ending views, the most incredible decor and the service was simply top notch! Special mention to the chef Robin who meticulously prepared meals to suit everyone's tastebuds! If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, a place you never want to leave then Alkira is it!
