L'hôtel Genji Kyoto a été l'une des expériences les plus enrichissantes lors de mon voyage à Kyoto. Bien que l'hôtel ne soit pas idéalement situé, et parce qu'il est situé dans une ruelle étroite, il faut environ 1 minute à pied après avoir pris un taxi, mais je le recommanderai quand même fortement à tous les voyageurs qui se rendent à Kyoto.  Après avoir parcouru chaque jour d'innombrables rues et centres commerciaux animés, on ressent toujours un sentiment de tranquillité en rentrant à la maison. La conception de l'hôtel elle-même est très remarquable. On sent que le designer a non seulement beaucoup réfléchi à l'architecture, mais qu'il a également pensé à de nombreux détails pour les invités : du petit jardin dans la salle de bain à l'interrupteur à côté du lit. Ce qui est encore plus étonnant, c’est l’attention des employés. Ils sont généreux avec leurs grands sourires lorsqu'ils partent et reviennent chaque jour. Le dernier jour après mon départ de Kyoto, je n’ai pas porté de doudoune car j’avais peur qu’il fasse trop chaud à l’aéroport. Le personnel m'a même chassé et m'a donné une compresse chaude. Même si j'ai séjourné ici pendant quatre nuits, je veux encore y séjourner à nouveau et ralentir pour apprécier chaque recoin de l'hôtel. La prochaine fois, s'il ne fait pas trop froid, j'aimerais prendre un verre dans le jardin sur le toit. Merci à Kyoto Genji de m'avoir apporté de merveilleux souvenirs de ce voyage.  

Très calme, le restaurant au dernier étage donne sur ces célèbres attractions, et le service est également très bon.

Hôtel à taille humaine, équipe fantastique (merci Eri pour votre gentillesse et la super visite du quartier), très beau design des chambres, prêt de vélos, petit déjeuner japonais ou western, rooftop très chouette, tout est au top dans cet hôtel que nous avons vraiment aimé. Tous les restos sont à 15mn à pied en marchant le long de la rivière donc super emplacement. On a adoré, merci à toute l’équipe d’avoir si bien accueilli notre famille !

Everything was perfect! My husband and I don't have one bad thing to say about the hotel or the staff. The minute you walk through the door you just know that it's going to be a good experience. The bed was comfortable, great shower, fluffy towels, and a wonderful designed room. Overall it was a lovely room and had everything we needed. We liked the location, because it was a peaceful neighborhood, but still near coffee shops, and cafes. If you want to be where the tourists attractions are it's not a long walk, but one could always take a taxi. We also enjoyed our breakfast on the rooftop patio, but also had breakfast in the lobby. Both were nice. You can also have it delivered to your room. The staff went over and beyond to make our stay nice. They were very helpful and gave us some good ideas on what to do & where to eat for our short 3 night visit. My only complaint, I wish I would have booked the hotel for more nights. When we return we will definitely stay here again.

This hotel was everything we could’ve dreamed of and more! It was insanely beautiful, the staff was kind and courteous, and the amenities were plentiful. The location was a little difficult to get to via car, but we did not mind walking for this wonderful place. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

We had a wonderful stay at Genji Kyoto, a Micheline Key hotel. All staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was a relaxing and comfortable one. The location is convenient. Our family of 4 had 2 rooms 501 and 502 with nice views of the city. Thank you to Eri and all staff.

Our family of four spent four amazing nights at Genji Kyoto over Christmas. The hotel is amazing in every way. We had two adjoining rooms behind one front door. The rooms are very large, with a table and sitting area for breakfasts. We enjoyed both Japanese and Western breakfasts. The breakfasts were outstanding and an amazing way to start each day. The bathrooms are amazing and we enjoyed the large bathtubs every single day. The rooftop is beautiful although it was a little too chilly for us to enjoy in December. We loved the quiet neighborhood where Genji is located. The staff was very helpful ordering taxis for us and walking us to the end of the street every time they arrived. The staff also made a Michelin dinner reservation for us one evening. I just cannot recommend this charming, lovely hotel enough. It was perfect in every way.

We stayed here for four nights and absolutely loved it. The hotel is in a great location - close enough to the major tourist attractions of Gion and the surrounding area, but removed enough to provide a quiet respite. Excellent design, lot's of the rooms overlook the river, but we had the Garden Premium double on the ground level which was very cozy and had a wonderfully laid out bathroom with rock garden that flowed into it. Everything about our stay was perfect. We loved having breakfast on the rooftop and the hotel was extremely helpful with providing itinerary suggestions and booking restaurants. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
