Brunel Inn

We have stayed before, and for the price point (then) it was spot on. Unfortunately the price had dramatically increased but the facilities were very basic. First time we stayed I think it was £30 per night, this time it was £65 a night. For us the location was perfect and that’s why we stayed, despite a number of issues. -toilet seat not attached -bathroom light not working - lumpy beds - mould around bathtub (that wasn’t that clean). - rooms are not serviced at all during your stay. But! The staff are friendly and the pub serves a decent pint. The hotel is on a busy road with single glazed sash windows so take ear plugs if you dont want to be up early.

Really basic accommodation - room just about clean enough. A lot of very simple things could be done to improve this accommodation. Painting the furniture. Improving the beds and bedding. Welcoming guests and giving information not leaving them to search for the route to the rooms Shower water barely warm no matter how long we let it run - tap water - cold water ran warm. Hot water barely ran. It was a cheap place to stay won’t be returning.

Me and my family stopped here and what a shame. The bar itself was nice said they served breakfast but when we arrived told had to go to a cafe for breakfast. The big let down was the rooms. Very unclean bits of food and screws left in floor. Mattress was just a bed of springs. The upper bunk bed had slats missing from it highly dangerous. Would deffo call in for a pint again but never stop here again

Brilliant service, good food, good mannerism, helpful bar staff. Vibrant a**osphere. Family friendly, big part of my local community. Cheap food and cheap drinks. The landlady is running a fine establishment and has completely changed my opinion on brummie for life

Nice pub but can be very noisy at times. Staff wouldn't make tea or coffee on a Saturday afternoon/evening because they were too busy!! 🤷‍♂️ - very strange smell in room and had to open window all the time while in the room. Hot water comes out of the cold tap, so had to run tap for 2-3 minutes to get cold water to clean your teeth. Mattress on bed needs replacing urgently. Food was nice and value for money. Overall I suppose you get what you pay for!!

Terrible service, filthy pub. Took staff 10mins to serve me as she was on her phone. Honestly the worst pub I have been to in Saltash. If you are desperate to use a toilet and there is nowhere else then use it, otherwise don't bother.

Paid just £55 for a 2 bedroom room for one night - very reasonable for a Cornwall hotel! The beds were very comfortable and very friendly service especially as I arrived late in the evening. Despite minor inconveniences such as a dodgy shower and some minor marks on bedding this can be overlooked considering the price. Thank you, Brunel Inn! Hope to visit again soon.

NO sandwiches:didn't want a huge meal,just a snack for lunch: just a Ciapatta on offer which was quite nice (£7!) Served with ' sade salad' which consisted of a LOT of Capsicum ( Sweet Pepper), the inevitable ' mixed leaves' ( not real food!) - what happened to a lovely crisp Lettuce ? - and 2 CherryTomatos! It would seem that Cucumber is in short supply, ditto Sweetcorn etc. NO imagination!! Had a cup of Tea/ asked for a mug, got a cup ' cause the lady serving me couldn't find one' or couldn't be bothered??? The garden benches/ tables needed a good clean/ preservative/ wrong height for tables : there was a token ***** of fake grass down one side and the only other people out there were two ' blokes' belching/ swearing!! NOT the relaxing area I was expecting! Must try harder!

Really friendly staff, nice pub and decent food. The room was clean and comfortable. Cheap and cheerful! The only issue we had was the noise at night. The pub itself wasn’t an issue but upstairs they have a really creaky corridor floor and heavy doors that slam loudly when people come upstairs. Overall good value for money. Just a shame we got woken up a few times in the night from the banging.
