Back from a weeks stay. Lots of mixed experiences both good and not so good. Pro -New, nice looking hotel -Clean -Modern -Comfortable bed -Nice pool (on the small side) -Pool Towels provided -Relatively reasonable room rate (although I think this was a pre opening offer) -Reasonable price for massage, approx £40-50 but then 20% discount for hotel guests. (Didn’t use other spa facilities as I though £20 to us the sauna and another £20 for the steam room which seemed steep) Some friendly staff - Man working pool side most days seemed friendly and looked to be working hard. (Although lots where very aloof) - Air con worked well (no extra charge) -breakfast included, quite a bit of choice and generally ok. Cons -Very uncomfortable sun loungers, literally left bruises. (Tried to overcome by using multiple towels to pad) -No much shade around the pool (shades looked nice but don’t do much) regularly the space by the bar under the tree got very congested - A number of experiences across the week of slow, poor service. Sat and waited one night for 40 min to order at the restaurant in the evening, gave up in the end and ate else where. On a number of occasions had to go find someone to order drinks from as no-one was about at the bars for long periods. -Tavern Resturant outside not clearly signposted (Just looked like a seating area it wasn’t clear that this was once of the two Resturant at the hotel.) -Food hit and miss. Some dishes where lovely but others not great. -Menu limited and odd options. -Cocktails not good. Ordered a classic cocktail and when it arrived was a very odd concoction. Wasn’t able to drink it was that bad. Stuck to beer for to rest of the week. (And felt quite uncomfortable around the bar man who made it and seemed very put out I’d sent it back even though I had been apologetic) -Greek dancing advertised for 8 on Friday night at 9:30/10:00 they still hadn’t started. Gave up waiting in the end and decided instead to go to our room to have a drink and watch tv. -Location isolated, no bars or restaurants in walking distance. There is a bus schedule but we couldn’t find the bus stop and never saw any buses passing. Take to twin approx £15 each way. (Worth it for better dining options) -transfers in offered by the hotel which we weren’t able to arrange for pick up as the hotel didn’t response to email. -rooms a little on the small size -storage limited, no draws (prob due to aesthetic), had to ask for more hangers got and extra 3 sent to room but still didn’t feel a great amount off two people for a whole week.
