BED BUGS..! I have bites all over my body which I brought to the attention of the "new owners" but they said quote "you must have brought it with you". Unprofessional and dishonest, pitty little lies, horrible experience still scratching myself, has left marks all over me, absolute novices. The pool table is great.

Very Tired decor, definitely needs a refurb. Bed was absolutely rock hard. Cleanliness wasn't great. Pub downstairs was lively though and bar staff friendly. Worked out cheap for us as we had three adults and had a triple room, at other hotels it would heave meant two rooms. Triple room was quite a bit cheaper than a double at the local Travelodge. Location was convenient for town centre and although they don't serve breakfast the local Wetherspoons a short walk away does.

Lovely honeymoon room , also the new restaurants offers very delicious Indian food. Normally I do not finish Indians food but this time I did. thanks the new owner who tried his best. Definitely will be there soon.

Quite friendly pub welcomed there was no food due to being changed to a Indian restaurant .check in easy and barman chatty and welcoming .clean and good location near to town. Would recommend and will stay again

Have stayed at this hotel for many years while working in the area aparanttly New owners have taken over and have been dishonest with my company regarding a refund. Going forward this is small minded as we will now go elsewhere.i resent being lied to over a small amount of money beware regards Lloyd Dall

It took us a while to find the place because it looks like a derelict building from the outside - no signage, boarded up windows and surrounded by scaffolding. Our room (number 4) smelt of damp, the mattress was rock hard, the curtain pole was held together with tape, there are cracks and holes in the walls, the TV had no signal, there's no wifi in this room and the fittings in the bathroom are rusty. On saturday morning we awoke to find 2 men on the scaffolding outside our window. We were quite pleased the kitchen was closed because we wouldn't have trusted any food coming out of this place. Absolutely not worth the £77 we paid for one night, room only.

Caveat emptor!! This place is the pits, avoid it like the plague. The only saving grace was the sheets were clean - but the rest was dreadful. Tatty doesn't go anywhere near adequately describing the decor. There were a couple of tubes of handwash supplied with towels, but no soap at the toilet hand basin. The toilet window had a broken blind that didn't come all the way and no opaque glass. Sitting on the loo I was on full view and could watch the traffic go by. There was just so much wrong with it that I didn't bother to try the shower in the morning and left as soon as I could.

Booked 3 weeks in advance, 2nd stop on a walking holiday, they just cancelled my booking. You can't imagine the trouble it's caused. It's not like I can just stop somewhere 20 miles down the road. ******

This is not a review about The Hotel, this is about very good food, friendly and happy staff, being fathers day it was busy. Carvery offered Turkey, Beef and Pork, Yorkshire, Pigs in blankets, stuffing and as much veg as the plate would hold and it was excellent. Would I go again without question.
