The New Inn

We stayed here ahead of going to the Mick Extance off-road experience. Good beer, friendly host (Dai) and a clean room with a comfy bed. Cheers! With regards to the other reviews on the site, I think some people are expecting champagne for lemonade prices.

Loved this place! Had a meal for the 3 of us plus our dog. Great meal and lovley pint! Very freindly and helpful staff and feel part of the community! So much so we are holidaying here this Chris**as 2023!

Booked in for an over night stay between jobs. Stayed in room 1 where I am greeted with a broken mirror and a broken tv in a dated room. The bedding was clean however the bed cried out with every movement reminiscent of the days you were trying to be quiet because her parents are downstairs... Single glazed windows mean I heard every vehicle and gust of wind that went past the property.. that was after the jukebox downstairs stoped screaming an eclectic selection of tracks from pet shop boys to hardcore dance anthems... As this is a room above a pub you will hear every conversation and game of pool until the locals leave. WiFi.... If your lucky, Router on bar, room 1 gets one bar of usable WiFi if your sat on the toilet.. and theres NO mobile service as you are at the bottom of a valley so communication to the outside world is impossible. Speaking of the toilet... theres a door next to it that leads back onto the landing and is secured with nothing but a little door latch, so don't leave anything valuable in the room, one push and its broken. No food available when I stayed so it was an hour round trip to Bala Co-op to find something to eat. At £70 a night my short review is, Dated, dirty, noisy room. Not worth the cost... in fact i should be paid to stay there.

Stayed at the hotel whilst working away and staff are lovely and always willing to help. Food is incredible, highly suggest the ultimate burger. Absolutely delicious

My husband booked this for two nights without reading reviews!!!!! I’ll start by saying we didn’t stay two nights , how this place is still in business is beyond me , we were put in the disused pub across the Rd from the new inn , on entry there were half drunk beer glasses and mucky tables , we had been taken across and shown our room so no excuse as to I hadn’t realised it was like that , electrics were showing at the bottom of the stairs that went to our room , filthy carpet on the stairs, holes in walls , tiny room ,tiny shower room with filthy bin and mirror, no soap ! The person in room nxt to us had a good nights sleep ,how do we know this ! Becouse we heard him snoring all night the walls are paper thin , and the best bit was the stunning view out our window of a toilet and a bath on the yard below , we high tailed it out of there as soon as it was light , do yourselves a favour go 15 mins down the Rd to Bala like we did for not much more than we paid for new inn , my husband is now sacked from booking any more hotels

AVOID AT ALL COST!! Should be shut down, the place is disgusting 🤢 Place very unclean, clearly hadnt been cleaned in months (please look at images of the room) *place has never seen a vacuum *mould and damp on walls *place has never seen a duster- spiders and dust in cups *kettle needs throwing away or at least cleaned *opened wardrobe to hang clothes, full and clutter * other cupboard full of used blue roll and broken tv *tv didn’t work in bedroom *spiders webs everywhere * was told breakfast served between 8am- 9am, dining room full at 7:50 with people waiting for breakfast. Bread, toaster and tea coffee facilities available, water and squash available but jug looked like it had never been washed (black and dust on lid) Cook decided to turn up at 8:45 to open kitchen to cook breakfast, so we handed in our keys and left as we had a day out planned having no breakfast. Paid £90 for one night for me, my husband and our 2 tiny dogs. One of the worst experiences of our lives.

I stayed here for one night on a walking holiday. The New Inn is in a good location for walking in the Berwyn area, and is near a mountain biking centre. The pub served a good real ale - Cornish Proper Job - and I had an excellent home cooked evening meal - delicious lamb casserole and apple crumble. Breakfast was mostly help yourself (no fruit) with an enormous cooked breakfast. A generous packed lunch was provided for £7 (again no fruit). The room was adequate - comfortable bed, clean linen, hot water in the taps, TV - but needed a spring clean - skirting board and window sill were visibly dirty. I would recommend the New Inn for a beer and a hearty meal. Accommodation is basic but serves a purpose if you need to stay in Llangynog.

Booked this Hotel for the Mick Extance experience. Very poor , stayed for two nights , stayed in room 10 ,old chips and chicken on the carpet , with an old sock under the TV stand. Hole in the ceiling caused by a leaky roof , must have been leaking for months ,carpet stained and wet from the leak , kept up at night from the sound of the water dripping onto the carpet , cupboard in the room full of Chris**as decorations , half a roll of toilet roll between three of us , no soap for washing hands in the bathroom, shower trickled out. bathroom door lock had been cut off with a disc cutter extractor fan from the main kitchen blows into bathroom window horrible smell , put us off eating breakfast both days , had a meal on the first day , ribeye steak tasted like it was all deep fat fried , was being sick the next day. pictures hung on the walls in the room in random places to cover up holes in the walls , tea and coffee facility's with no milk. very unclean.

to love coming here but it has sadly fine downhill. Outside dirty and covered in cigarette butts, hygiene rating down to 3. No plain gin only nasty lemon flavoured rubbish, served in lager glasses Won't be back
