Paddington Apartments

See below for another person who was also out of pocket by the management here same issue Contracted covid the day before tried to message ********** who told me to send proof to hotel I did and still no refund authorised by the management. I see they have sold out of rooms so my room was booked so they haven’t lost out so why keep my £140! Not treated like a human and being sick and two days of constant back and forth absolute nightmare book travel lodge who at least move the date if you prove your genuinely ill !

Great location. Small apartment that is very basic, wasn’t that clean and minimal resources. The good thing is these apartments have a lift (even though it is very small) it’s still better than carrying suitcases up and down stairs. Very close to great pubs, restaurants, tourist attractions and Paddington train station

We stayed at Paddington Apartments for a week in January 2023 and had a relatively enjoyable experience. Albeit being dated, the room was big and cosy, with appliances that were useful for us, including a kitchenette, microwave and stove. The location was great and very accessible from the Queen Elizabeth line, as well as Saintsbury and M&S. We would advice you to ensure everything is settled on your phone to make sure that the check-in process is smoother as it is a fully automated check-in. Special shout out to Michael, who was very warm and helpful. We appreciated his help! We would stay here again the next time we’re in London.

First the positives: well located: few mins walk from Paddington station, near lots of shops/ eateries, but so are hundreds of mid range hotels. Room was good size, check in whilst seeming complicated from the numerous emails from the company was pretty straightforward. Fully equipped kitchen, fridge, ironing gear etc. Free Wi-Fi Down sides: room must have been serviced prior to our arrival: clean towels and bedding etc but the waste bin hadn’t been emptied. TV had terrestrial channels but all of them were poor reception and not possible to watch anything. The bed was just awful. A double bed by definition but little space for two. Am so mattress was so soft that you kept rolling into each other or off the bed. Bed base was low so difficult to get up if your knees are a bit crock. My conclusion: all I really wish for is a clean room with a comfy bed. So long as I get a decent nights sleep I’m pretty cool with what my midrange or budget accommodation has to offer. I’ve stayed in several apartments before and this one was not as good as the others. For a couple on a weekend break I’d advise getting a budget hotel. Perhaps you’ll pay a little more but in the long run it will be worth it. If however you are here for longer and on a budget, the ability to self cater and save money by not eating out all the time, it might be worth it. So, if you are here longer, you would have time to iron out the problems: tv etc

The studio was mostly clean & well stocked with kitchen utensils and bathroom necessities. The biscuits and water bottles were nice as well. The air conditioning worked very well. One of us had a comfortable nights sleep. I felt as if the pictures didn't accurately represent the studio we ended up in. While it is a studio on the booking this did mislead us somewhat as "Paddington Apartments" implies an apartment which this was not. The bed was on the small side for a double and there was no sofa or seating area for us to watch the TV (which was positioned in a way that makes it unwatchable from the only other sitting position - the bed). There were cracks in the floor tiles that we had concerns could cut our feet if they continued to lift up further (see photo). The decor was also very out of date and made the room unwelcoming. There was no noise protection either and we could easily hear other guests talking. It was disappointing as with a little bit of investment/renovation the room would be a lot better. At over £220 a night you do expect a LOT better.

Pro: Location: - Central city apartment next to Kensington Gardens and Paddington train station - Small kitchen with supply kitchen items - For London it's acceptable priced - Airco is adequate Con: You need to pick up keys 20 mins walk from the apartment so be sure to check the key pick up address. Beds are a bit hard The view: we were in the basement floor

We had real issues when we stayed here the Fire Alarms kept being triggered and non one came to assist this went on from 2am and another guest trued his very best to help we ended up with firemen in our apartment at 3am and hence got very little sleep.I wrote to them with my concerns about our stay and was told remove the bad review or we will keep the complaint closed, really is that what customer relations is about these days ? Disgraceful.Avoid staying here.

We didn't actually get to stay at the apartments due to 3 out of 4 of our party contracting covid. I notified *********** as soon as i found out. The Paddington apartments refused to refund but asked me to provide proof of positive tests for which I had to get my very sick sisters out of bed to provide, so that they could reconsider, only to decide they were notified too late anyway so why ask for the tests???. ( Unfortunately this was the 1st day they tested positive and could not notify before we even knew!!!) I also asked if they would consider letting us come on another date to which the answer was also No! I think it at very least was bad practice and I certainly would not give them any more of my money.

We arrived to the property to find we couldn’t get in and when someone let us in eventually after being outside freezing cold there was no key card in the box allocated to us so we had to wait even longer for an Uber taxi to bring one which was just not good after travelling for a couple of hours as it was! When we entered the room we had believed there were two separate spaces for the beds as that’s what the pictures had shown but it was one big room and three beds! The beds are hard and uncomfortable! The next morning house keeping were outside our room from about 8-10 shouting at each other in another language banging and knocking about so we were woken up early not to anyone satisfaction after an evening out which woke me, my partner and the kids up! Then asked to leave room in a rude manner eyes rolling at us at check out time! There should be some sort of rule for house keeping to KEEP THE NOISE DOWN in the mornings it’s surely just a unwritten rule and polite to let people sleep especially in hospitality settings and the fact your own rules are to be quiet at night! The only thing I could say I was happy with was the location close to Hyde park other then that I’ve stayed in a lot of places this has to be the worst sorry to the fact I think I’ve wrote about 2/4 bad reviews in my life
