The Tommyfield Hotel

We had a lovely stay at Tommyfield, nice quiet location but a close walk to Kennington tube station and a bus stop across the road. There is also a tesco express across the road and a superstore a 5 minute walk. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

An outstanding hotel. Highly recommend. So convenient and near to the city center. The room was only fabulous. My first solo stay and it was so worth it. The girls in the bar were so friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they took our bags in until we could check in. So nice. Loved the decor and the tea and coffee facilities. The room has absolutely everything you need for an enjoyable visit. Will definitely return.

I chose this hotel for its location in Kennington where most of my activities were going to be based, and it really is in a great part of town, with some really interesting architecture and quaint little streets. It is literally a 5 minute walk from the tube station. I had arrived a little early, but my room was available just a few minutes later. Delighted to see the tea making facilities (I'd read about the coffee machine, but wasn't sure there'd be a kettle) and proper sized mugs. The aircon was efficient at cooling the place down, though too noisy to leave on overnight. I had some slight problems with the bathroom plumbing, but none was enough to warrant a request for a room change: the shower was too hot, the sink plug got stuck, and there was a bit of a drainage problem with the bath. The manager was very apologetic when I informed her the next morning, and got straight on to her plumber, so hopefully it's sorted for the next guest. There are lots of great eateries and bars nearby: I dined at Doost@Amici just 3 minutes walk away, where the Persian food was delicious, and had a nice couple of pints of Guinness at the White Bear pub, again just 3 minutes away. The bed was very comfortable, but maybe I should have brought earplugs: my room overlooked the main road, so there was lots of city noise, which I'm not used to. Breakfast was down in the pub the next morning, with a great discount for residents. The Turkish eggs were amazing, and set me up for the day! I would definitely stay again!

Great wee find for a place to stay in the city. A really friendly welcome and I stayed in a lovely spacious room. Nespresso machine particularly good for my coffee needs! I was travelling solo and felt very safe and comfortable here. The food in the bar was tasty and a good price too. Nice touch to have a discount for residents too. I'd definitely stay here again!

The boutique hotel was amazing. Just figured out how to do a review. We had 3 nights at this hotel. Loved the location. The bartender, waitress and staff were amazing. We ate dinner every night. Our last night was great. I am definitely going to come back. My husband and I loved our. Bed and pillows, claw foot tub, walk-in shower were awesome. Felt at home and staff were above and beyond. We stayed here on the back of an event we had held at The Tommyfield in November, and were very glad to have returned. We were brilliantly looked after from the moment we entered. The food and drink(s!) were spot-on; with excellent service from Teresa and the team. The room was well appointed and very comfortable - we would have loved to have been able to stay even longer. We only live in Clapham but shall definitely return for another night away.

The staff were incredibly caring. They we’re friendly and welcoming. The hotel room puts any chain hotel to shame. Luxurious bath and enormous bathroom. Cool room. Fabulous amenities. Big room. Fabulous- stay here! And a fab pub just downstairs too. Did I say the staff were amazing??? Top!! Will stay again!

What a lovely little stay in this boutique hotel the bed was a super king with lovely bedding and feather pillows. It felt luxurious and I am a sheet snob and I totally approved. The bed was really comfortable not too firm but just right. I woke with no backache. The bathroom was great too with a lovely en suite shower and a roll top bath. Nespresso machine, kettle milk and water in the fridge and some nespresso pods and tea bags and sugar in the drawer. I would’ve liked to have been able to have more than one cup of tea so would have appreciated a few more tea bags as there were only 2 English breakfast tea. My one criticism is that we were out out that night and there just isn’t enough lighting to get ready doing things like hair and a touch of make up. The bathroom really needs to be better lit or at least a vanity mirror with a plug in the bedroom. We had a Rhubarb Gin and ginger beer with some chips downstairs before heading out. There is a kebab shop a couple of doors down for when you get back late a touch peckish. I parked in one of the bays down a side street after 18.00 on the Saturday for free if you’re wondering about where to park over the weekend. After 18.00 on Friday until Monday 0800.

I stayed at this pub before going to the Oval. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The aircon was a little noisy but very effective. I had dinner there. The food was excellent and the menu really good. Definitely worth a stay. Please note that the rooms are up stairs not good if you have mobility problems.
