Mayneview B&B

We had a great stay in Luray, VA, starting with this wonderful bed and breakfast. It was clean, inviting, with many upgrades while still respecting the original character of the house and property. Ownership and management were accommodating and friendly. Views were outstanding from this property on a hill. Simply said, we will stay here again. Thank you, Bryce and Gregory!

Mayneview or rather Hugh, the Keeper of the BNB there, really MADE our TOTAL experience of Luray, VA! Hugh is Mayneview and he was completely sensitive and anticipating our every need. We stayed in the Overlook Room and were told it has the best views in the house. It was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable for me but my partners side of the bed was too worn and uncomfortable, and this was not mentioned to me until we left the BNB. I am sure that if we mentioned this to them, Hugh would have had a new mattress on our bed immediately. We arrived late and they were very accommodating to the situation (we made plans with them in advance) and were greeted with hot cookies that had so many wonderful tastes to them and there was plenty of hot beverage options available on our floor as well as on first floor dining area 24/7, including ice and a fridge on each floor. We had the place all to ourselves the first night as there was a cancelation for the entire house. That is how we got our pick of rooms! Next 2 nights there were 2 couples and it was very quiet. In literature, it states that it is an old house and you need to be aware and be quiet 10pm and 8 am. Breakfasts kept us going all day as they included fruit, an egg dish, veggies, beverages and all sorts of fresh goodies. Hugh made some great recommendations for day hikes, etc. He even had maps and literature where we discovered many interesting activities. The big draw, of course, is Luray Caverns...not to be missed. BUT, we made Mayneview our "Destination Restoration Vacation" and I highly recommend them for this. You don't have to go anywhere but sit on the porch and rock, eat inside or outside, explore the grounds, hang on the deck or take a hot tub. The rooms are updated with new showers amidst the old world charm. The history associated with this place is fun to reside in and marvel at the beauty of the well-appointed rooms, lavish luxurious Victorian period furnishings and paintings, etc. Love this place that encourages lazing and gazing!

We were in the area 2 days to see the national park. The town of Luray is convenient with its own things to see. Mayneview B&B was our first stay at a B&B and it did not disappoint. The house is old, but well renovated and charming. We appreciated sitting on the porch watching birds in garden area, then hanging on the back porch observing wildlife & neighboring animals. Inside rooms are beautifully decorated to include some historic photos. Our room had an efficient bathroom with a great rain showerhead. We slept great with the quiet surroundings. The bed was quite comfortable & outfitted with high quality cotton sheets. The best part of our stay was certainly Gregory, our host. Funny, charming, and a terrific chef. Gregory, we certainly appreciated your hospitality!!

This is an amazing houseproperty that fit our whole family during our reunion Fourth of July weekend. Bryce and Greg are wonderful hosts, and shared a lot of information about the history of the area and things to do. The pavilion was a great spot to sit out and enjoy the beautiful Mountain views.

Mayneview B&B was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere, the food, the location, the hospitality were all excellent. Hugh was very personable and accommodating, you couldn’t ask for any better. We did utilize the hot tub both nights because we hiked 10+ miles each day and this was amazing as well! I highly recommend visiting here for a couples getaway. Very relaxing and would definitely come back one day!

Just got back from staying here. Beautiful B&B with awesome views. Hugh the Inn Keeper was awesome and boy can he cook! We left early our last day so missed out on breakfast, Hugh was nice enough to make us cookies for the road but I forgot to take them before we left🤦‍♀️ Rooms were very nice and very clean. Great location, close to downtown Luray with lots of shops and restaurants.

My wife and I had a wonderful 3 night stay in the 'Overlook Room' which had South and East views of the mountains with the quaint town of Luray below. Hugh, the Inn Keeper, was an excellent host who made sure we had an excellent B&B experience. He prepared delicious variations of egg dishes each morning alongside fresh fruit, sausage/bacon and incorporated items produced from the owner's other ventures (honey in the fruit smoothies, homemade sausage, etc...) . With the nice weather, Hugh was able to set us up for breakfast outside on the covered side porch each morning. The last day, we had to get on the road just slightly before the normal breakfast time so Hugh put together some breakfast sandwiches, juice and cookies together for us for the the road! After a day of enjoying the nearby Shenandoah National Park or Luray Caverns, we found the outdoor viewing pavilion to be a nice spot to unwind in the evenings and take in the great view. We did not take advantage of the hot tub or fire pit, but both were ready to go if we chose to do so. The well decorated room was very clean and provided the modern comforts of a tile shower with good water pressure and a very comfortable memory foam king size bed. This was a great B&B experience and we would definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area.
