The Farmhouse

We booked Sunday lunch, in a separate room, for a 60th birthday party. There were 25 of us, including 10 children. The room was excellent, giving us privacy and space for the children to play. Service was great- getting 25 meals out at the same time takes some skill. The waiters/ waitresses were great, efficient, polite, friendly- even though the rest of the pub was busy and they were rushed off their feet. Food was lovely, all hot and well cooked. For a big family get together we really couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you

We came to your restaurant for a birthday meal. To start the young brunette that waited our table was lovely. Unfortunately we waited nearly 40 minutes for 6 drinks to arrive. When they did get the the table, the cocktails that had prosecco in was flat and not very nice. She soon got this sorted out for us and bought us fresh drinks. We ordered food and we were served by a different waitress. She was rude and you got the impression she didn't want to be there. She wasn't nice when we said that the food she brought out wasn't ours she stomped back off into the kitchen. We then had to further complain as most of it was cold. This was all sorted out by the lovely and very helpful general manager. He sorted it all out for us. We just hope that the staff there can be a little more pleasant next time we come. Pizza was amazing, and the mac and cheese was lush.

Myself and my partner Stayed over for 1 night in September, The room was very disappointing and looked dirty and needed updating, the carpet needed replacing , walls needed painting and the bathroom was old and tired. The bar area down Stairs was much better.

What. A. Venue. The Folly at The Farmhouse is absolutely beautiful, stunningly memorable and is the perfect, private paradise for any bride and groom. My wife and I married here in July 2022 and the team made it so easy throughout. Our wedding co-ordinators Paige and Rebecca were incredibly supportive and their expertise and insight helped shape all the major moments in our special day smooth and simple. The venue itself is fantastic. The wedding reception space was incredibly bright, intimate and gorgeously put together. The huge private gardens outside were brilliant for the children in our family to relax and play in a fun, safe environment and made for a beautiful setting for some of our photos. Our wedding breakfast and evening reception was brilliant as well. The room is spacious and spotless, plus the air conditioning kept us all cool and collected on a hot summer day. Every single one of our guests loved their accommodation on-site at The Folly and have already told me they already plan to stay here again next time they are in Derby. Each and every room was incredibly spacious, homely, clean and comfortable… and the bridal suite was something else! The Folly at The Farmhouse is perfect. What’s more the price was extremely competitive and was far better value for money than every other comparable venue in the Derby area. Plus, the team were more than happy to work with us and even made a few concessions to help us work within our budget. Thank you so much to everyone at The Folly!

Had a table booked for 3 on Saturday 23rd July 6pm! Food was fabulous, no complaints at all! Fish and Chips, Pizza, and a Mediterranean aubergine dish with side of sour dough bread! All were very tasty! The atmosphere and vibe of the place was excellent which makes a huge difference when eating out! This vibe is mostly made by the fabulous waiting staff who all have a great attitude and are super friendly. Our waitress was Ellie who was absolutely fabulous, and set the tone for a lovely evening and would be an asset to any work place! Overall a great evening had by all! Will be back soon!

In the sunshine the farmhouse pub garden is the place to be. Food is rather expensive so we opted for just drinks. Dog friendly which is always a bonus, next time we bring the pooch! Thank you Annabelle for looking after from the moment we entered to leaving. Will be back when the sun shines for sure x

A lovely place. Nice atmosphere and decor. Great food and excellent service. Very easy access from Derby. This was my first visit and I was instantly impressed. The staff are genuinely friendly and professional. My wife and I will definitely return!

We went for 2 consecutive nights - the first for a meal in the restaurant and then drinks, the second for pizza and drinks which we took outside to eat. The food was lovely - we particularly loved the hummus with flatbreads. The bar staff also make fab cocktails.

We had our wedding at The Folly in May 2023 and cannot recommend the venue and experience highly enough. Paige was our wedding planner and from first meeting right through to the wedding day could not do enough for us. Nothing was too much to ask and we couldn’t have wished for anyone better who by the time our day came, we felt like she was part of our wedding party. Thank you so much Paige! Another special shout out was for the manager Sam who frequently stayed in touch with us and eased our nerves up to our special day. The venue was superb, recently decorated and furnished and has stunning character. The event food was amazing and was commented on by all of our guests along with a wide range of drink choices! We also can’t thank all of the Folly staff enough, especially the bar staff who were so nice and accommodating and made our experience more fun! Paige recommended us multiple suppliers who all exceeded our expectations and overall made our day perfect. The use of the outdoor area with lighting, comfy furniture and the fire pit was also special and made the venue stand out for us. Thank you for going above and beyond, giving us the best day and wedding planning experience we could have wished for!
