Excellent accommodation , very welcoming host, good choice & quality of food, & beer top drawer Log fire, Staff very efficient at serving Nice touches with in room coffee/tea with homemade biscuits Plenty of parking All round highly recommended

It was lovely to be welcomed by Kes the manager who made sure I had some oat milk in my fridge — a genuine first for when I’m away from home. And the girls that helped me out while I was there with a vegan breakfast bag were also friendly. Room was comfy, and the radiator in there was very welcome. I knew there was going to be a roll top bath tub in there instead of a shower — was prepared after looking on the website. Lovely feature of the bathroom! However, the shower curtain around it was very discoloured at the bottom and a bit icky. The floor in the bathroom also wasn’t super clean, I made the mistake of walking around the first night in white socks. There was a thick layer of dust on the top of the headboard but other than the bathroom floor and the headboard I had no other cleanliness issues. Thank you for a lovely stay! I would absolutely recommend it.

Stayed two nights at the Horse and Groom Inn, the rooms are truly stunning, fitted out to the highest standard, the ladies who looked after our group of 5 were brilliant, nothing was to much trouble, would defiantly go again and recommend the Horse and Groom to others

The Horse and Groom is now doing breakfasts so we thought we would give it a try. Absolutely delicious! I had eggs florentine and my husband had a full English breakfast. Service was brilliant. A very nice relaxed way to start our Sunday. We’ll definitely do it again.

This is one of the loveliest inns we’ve ever stayed at. Kez and her team were absolutely fantastic, always going the extra mile to make sure we were happy, and always with a smile. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the food in the restaurant top quality and very tasty. Our two dogs were made very welcome too and when I stupidly left their two beds in our room when we left, Kez immediately arranged to post them back to us-truly service above and beyond!

Lovely pub, welcoming, friendly and the Sunday roast was absolutely beautiful. Would recommend to come here and try it out for food and for drinks. Dogs welcome in both restaurant and bar area. Garden area for the warmer days and a Boules available too.

Was really looking forward to staying here after reading some of the reviews sadly this was not my experience. The positive - friendly staff, very comfy bed. The not so positive- I stayed in The Charlton which was £139, the room has a very odd smell which I think I worked out why. There is no stand alone shower but a (lovely) roll top bath with a hand held shower now if you want to wash your hair you slide a very small ringed curtain around, however the curtain doesn’t cover the back wall where the pictures are mouldy and the water (even though you really try not to) goes everywhere - the floor was saturated and I’m sure that’s the smell - damp! Then there was breakfast which I have to say is honestly the worst breakfast I have ever experienced. From a very disappointing list (picture shown) I chose the toast, scrambled egg and beans - I shall leave you to see the photo. My colleague chose ham, egg and avocado again see the abysmal attempt. Come on guys, totally unacceptable for the price we paid! Unfortunately I will not be returning.

Great evening meal, went with 7 friends, and booked online on the day. Really friendly staff, really good service. Great atmosphere. The menu had a good range, and it was all lovelly and arrived promptly even with the size of the party.

Haven’t stayed there, just eaten there but won’t do it again and can’t recommend it to anyone. Food undercooked and some items not on the plate so had to ask for them. Terrible Christmas lunch, really poor value for money
